I’d switch up Tkachuk and Bennett for one game as I think Tkachuk’s pace matches and compliments Jagr’s game more - they looked dangerous together on the PP. I know the MMM line is solid but it wouldn’t hurt to try and spread the wealth in order to spark that third line and hopefully give Benny a spark too.
Seeing Stajan tonight all but confirmed that we need to move on from him; F. Hamilton didn’t do badly but we need to reward Hathaway and see the jam he brings to the lineup again IMO. This is of course if Versteeg is day to day or longer.
Two games in a row that Bennett has recklessly collided with Jagr.
Jagr skating back to bench shaking his head.
Not good.
Is the hate on Bennett really extending to two freak accidents now? I get that his stats are down and I know that he's frustrating, but please give it a rest

The top line is going to need some help tonight. Monahan/Gaudreau have been red hot, need to keep them in check. Penalties are going to cost us.

Drink for every Mike

to the guy who wants me to count the "Mike's" he's already said it twice in the first minute.
Quote:
yea no way hes up to 5 already not gonna be able to keep up.
Quote:
Keep up until the first commercial and I can try to take over. I'm also sure he said it about 4 or 5 times in that last exchange alone.
Quote:
yea he’s up to 11-12
Quote:
He may have made it through a whole color thing without saying "Mike". I couldn't tell if he said "Like" or "Mike" so I'm putting it under my +/- column. We're at 20 Mike's so far.
Quote:
Lets set the over/under at 132.5
Quote:
We’re on pace for 120 right now.
Quote:
I slacked on the Mike counter for period 2, but I think I got about 19, so we're up to 47 with a +/- of about 5
Quote:
I probably missed a few, but I had another 19 mikes in the 3rd to give us a total of 66 Mikes.

Chronicles of Rittich
Quote:
Mike Smith is having a rather good season so perhaps it was good Dallas scored five goals on him yesterday.
Avs have a way to make rookies look good though.
Quote:
Bernier playing on consecutive days, three games in 4 days, and the Flames starting a rookie goaltender. Also, the Avs have lost only once all year at the Pepsi Center. I figure they are due for a bad game at home, hope I'm wrong
Quote:
Yes, they did. Their backup is now 25-year-old Czech goalie David Rittich.

What happened to Gillies? Wasn't he the chosen one?

Aw damn, the flames know our ‘only’ weakness! Rookie goalies playing their debuts.
Shutout inbound! May aswell just call it a game right now.

Flames rookie getting a shutout tonight.

Avs playing against a rookie back up goalie? They're done.
Quote:
Avs need to make this rookie goaltender uncomfortable. We obviously need more zone time, but also need to put someone in his face. Every time they show a close up of his face I wanna see Wilson's or Landeskog's butt with it.
Quote:
Yup we getting shutout
Gushing over Gaudreau
Quote:
Can you imagine how good MacK and Gaudreau would look together? It would be ridiculous. I really wanted the Avs to put in an offer or OS him when he was an RFA.

Kerfoot needs to just follow Johnny Hockey around the ice every shift tonight. Learn from your master, Kerf.

I wish we had Tkachuk.

Gotta give it to Tkachuk tho

We could use a Ferland or Tkachuk. I don't think you can just look to add grit, but you need gritty skilled players.
Quote:
But you gotta admit, it was nice seeing him give the business to Tkachuk.
Quote:
It was a bad penalty on Landeskog. But I mean Tkachuk does that to everyone. Just a face that you gotta smack.
Quote:
And I'm pretty sure Tkachuk threw an elbow at Johnson
Quote:
I wish we have a chance to draft his younger brother in the draft. Should be even better.
Avs fans to the rescue

That was a bit excessive of Landeskog, even if I can understand you not liking opponents whacking at the goalie.

I hate our PK design... Leave guys open in prime spots, hold the house! Surprised our PK isn't worse

The Avs PK just seems to be "everyone rush towards the puck!" people leaving their man everywhere. Why are all four PKers in the corner?

Let's just shut down the last minute of the period. The Flames will never expect that

Talk about complacent, from the ****ing skaters all the way back to the damn net.

barrie tops that off with a brain dead play to cost the game

Seriously, that's just frustrating and stupid. You go out there after a brutal giveaway leads to a goal against, and repeat the process? Really?

This is why I hate playing Calgary. They're such a pain in the ass. Go to Houston already.

Let's not let tinordi drag us down with his bad vibes.
Rittich looked good, hopeful he came become a solid #2. Proud of Ferland, he's having a great season.
I feel that he is just another Where ru Chris O'Sullivan type who fixates on a player he hates, which boggle my mind and wonder what did Bennett do to him.

I'm just watching him closely trying to figure out what the hell is going wrong. The more you watch the uglier it gets.
Anyway, I'll lay off Bennett if he's deemed a sacred cow.
Just brought it up because nobody's mentioned it. But two games on a row colliding with your linemate and that linemate shaking his head after? Seems like a notable point of discussion no?

Really enjoying this McKinnon interview. Seems like a great guy. Humble and a good sense of humour - total Maritimer.
Fantastic game tonight. I thought all the D played well, Top 3 lines were rolling, and Rittich was solid. Good pace and fun game to watch. Amazing what Tkachuk plays through, he takes a lot of abuse out there but is so effective on every shift.

Honestly, the team needs to move on from all three of those 4th line centres. And this was a decent game from both Stajan and Freddie.
I think they'll probably ride and rotate this group of three 4th line centres in and out till the end of the season.

Seems like an event type that intrigues you. Can you recall the 2 avs players that collided heavily tonight?
