Brodie isn't struggling, this is what Brodie has been for almost 2 years. Great offensively a mess in his own zone, soft plays from him every game now. Becoming a liability

Just pull it left Hamilton.... But instead throws it back into his pads.

Flames' two-man forecheck doesn't seem to be working, it's giving the Stars lots of room up the ice.

Smith made a bad pass, but Brodie didn't eat it along the boards and freeze it to regroup. And Smith made the pass into traffic because his skaters didn't give him many options. So not good all around.

So does Brodie get an excuse for every mistake he makes in his own zone when he has the puck? Last game it rolled of his stick, this game it was Smiths fault. Dude has been a tire fire

Brodie had the option to pass it back behind the net over to Hamilton or make the dangerous play and try and flip a backhand out of the zone.
Instead, he spins himself into the corner, loses it, and voila.
Wasn't the greatest option by Smith but it's not like he put Brodie in a lose-lose situation. He trusts his D-men to make those plays. Unfortunately, Brodie has been good for multiple brutal turnovers a game this season

Smith made the right play, but rifled the puck a little too hard and TJ got it caught in his skates.
TJ actually did an OK job of protecting it, but there was 3 guys on him and one of them was Backlund's, who tried to take the body but should have played the puck.
Hamilton was caught puck-watching and should have gone to the front of the net as soon as he saw Roussel approaching as well.

It seems that DAL has a bit more intensity or physicality going this game. Not much but enough to make difference. As GG has stated before CGY just kind of playing. They need to compete harder. Forecheck harder and make their forays count with shots on net.
The PP1 guys were the most guilty of this. Being out worked. It's evident to me from these guys in 5v5 play too

Over the past several games, everytime I see Brodie with the puck that deep in this own zone, my butt clenches.

Nobody even mentions the play again if Dougie reacts to the play and covers the man in front. It was sloppy all around, it happens.
I thought the Brodie Hamonic pair had a good period overall.
