I thought the ref whistle blew before Crosby teed off on the puck resting on Khudobin. Should be a dead play IMHO not a good goal, but who the heck knows?

Not too also mention you can't hit the goalie in the head with your stick regardless of whether you are trying to play the puck or not. I guess if your Crybaby Crosby you can.

3-3 with a weird goal for Pit. Puck sitting on the goalie's stomach (who was on his back), whistle goes as the Pit player hits it off his belly into the net. Goal. Reviewed. Still a Goal.

It is a four way tie for fourth place in the Central Division! The Blackhawks, Avalanche, Stars, and Wild have 23 points each.

Oilers seem to have had a pretty easy schedule so far it's comical how bad their record is

I'm surprised that the Avalanche are doing so well after such a dismal last year.

Barzal has a good game. Thank goodness the Oilers felt that Griffin Reinhart was worth the Barzal pick and a second in exchange. Barzal would look pretty good as secondary scoring for Edmonton right about now!

With all due respect to Arvidsson, it's crazy how quickly Pastrnak has solidified his spot as the steal of the 2014 draft.

Scored his 70th69th70th goal of his career today. The next highest from that draft class is Draisaitl with 56 in more games. He's produced more than double Bennett in roughly the same amount of games. Pretty much a point per game player over the last calendar year.

Edit: Was his 70th goal, surprised that the total isn't automatic on NHL.com (10+15+34+11=70...)

The Jets are all over the Ducks. They had a goal taken away with an offside challenge in the first minute but then scored for real 30 seconds later.

Just under a point per game clip this season is Barzal. Meanwhile, Reinhart is in the farm system of the Vegas Golden Knights with zeroes across the board in 7 games played with a -3 +/- rating.

Doesn’t feel like Vegas will ever slow down. Up 1-0 in the 1st.

Now 2-0 Vegas.

And apparently Klefbom is out tonight, not sure if he’s hurt or it’s just because he’s terrible.

Huh, I am surprised too. I had thought NHL.com used an Excel spreadsheet format. In that case goal totals should be just a simple =sum routine. Weird

Career games played is off one too.

anyone see the goal Elliott let in from Center Ice? He got lucky that Tavares hadn't cleared the zone yet, thus was offside so the goal didn't count.

Just completely whiffed on it. Elliott doing Elliott things. Announcers saying the Flyers 'undeniable #1' goalie. No wonder they've lost 8 in a row.

Yahoo reports the Flu.

Wonder if having your sick star around the team for a prolonged period of time rather than resting/out sick was such a good idea....
