I got my Wii this AM too, from a pre-order. I was talking to the
salesperson and he was saying there were a lot more excited
people on the Wii than PS3, he could just see it in their actions.
It was funny, someone would get their Wii and then *RUN* to their
car.
I picked up an extra Wii-mote, but cannot find a nunchuck controller
anywhere in town. Anyone know of a store with some left??
I've played Wii-Sports most of the day. I have yet to open Excite Truck
and Rayman Raving Rabbids.
Very entertaining, and my 4 year old likes the bowling and tennis.
Baseball is nifty too.
She's the reason I got one in the first place...
Is this Zelda game that good? I have never played it, original either.
I don't particularily like first-person-shooters. Diablo series I liked.
I'm trying the online now, it keeps on updating. Taking away from
my playing time!

Zelda game's absolutely amazing. It's not really a first person shooter. I'm not really sure how to describe it, but it makes excellent use of the wii-mote. I'm a huge Zelda fan and have been waiting for this game for years, and it hasn't disappointed.

Played Call of Duty 3 on Wii today and gotta say, AWESOME.
The graphics are no better than a PS2, but the rest of the game was way fun with the controllers. I gotta say, Nintendo really did a good job with the controls.
Word of caution though, the learning curve was steep. For ppl used to the conventional way of playing console games, Wii might **** you off at the beginning, but once you get the hang of it, you won't put it down.

I heard that the graphics are only as good as the PS2 in Call of Duty 3 is because it is basically a port to the Wii from the previous generation consoles, but with the change in controls (obviously).

I don't think they have it in stock. But you should be able to get one on the re-order around the 5th of December.
Well after 12 hours of playing the wii and missing the grey cup, this is the most i've played on a console in more than 12 years.
My shoulders hurts like hell! hehe

Thanks for the heads up! I just ordered one. I lined up to get one for 3 and a half hours and was 2 people away from getting one -_-. I guess I don't mind waiting a couple weeks. Thanks again.

Yeah, I think a good 6 or 7 hours for me total. I really should have been finishing Okami, but man, the Wii was pretty hard to put down, it was so much fun.

I really want to get one, but I'm waiting for some cooler colors to come out before purchase, and for the new super smash brothers.

I'm waiting for black. I am getting a little tired of Nintendo and their "cutseyness" though. I mean Wii sports could have been completely done with a realistic look instead of suepr deformed playschool looking simplistic models and simplistic graphics. The Dreamcast made Sega Tennis look realistic enough and the Wii is many more times powerful.

OMG its amazing. My neighbour in residence has one and I've been playing it for like 5 hours straight
Wii sports is so much fun. Who cares about the graphics, none of the other consoles come with free games and they're double the price! Plus the fun in the Wii is not the graphics but the gameplay.
I'm thinking the gaming market is gunna be a little split by hardcore gamers and casual gamers. Hardcore gamers are going to want their classic xbox controller with the intense graphics, while us casual folk will enjoy the Wii.
This thing is basically gunna solve all problems with child obesity thats for sure

I got my Wii yesterday in the mail from Amazon. Got to play Wii Sports for a couple hours and thought it was great. For what is basically a tech demo it was great and definitely helped to give a feel for the controller.
Hopefully Zelda will arrive today. I look forward to that. Should be great. I haven't been this excited about a system in a very long time (well, since I was a kid anyway).

Crap I want one so badly right now. Anyone have any idea on how often shipments are coming in? The only things I've heard is that it's every two weeks.

I read someone say that there may be more available by this weekend (Sunday specifically) but I have no idea if that is true or not.

Yeah I just read something that said that Best Buy (and I assume Futureshop as well) would be getting shipments of various stuff on a weekly basis, that would include consoles, games and accessories.

Japan is to video games what Canada is to hockey. Not to mention Japan is home turf for Nintendo. Japan doesn't have the "OMG I need realism" bug like NA has. If it was all realistic there would be people on Japanese gaming boards wondering why the game was made less accesable to all ages by trying to shoot for realism.
Personally, I put over 5 hours into Wii Sports with my wife so far and it doesn't bother either of us at all.
