Once the top line dries up (it will), we're in trouble

Because that'll happen in isolation, with nothing else regarding scoring changing at all.
Once the other lines start scoring (they will), we'll be okay.

But they aren't supposed to be expected to either, right?

Most teams are trying for a top-3, bottom 1, but those bottom lines are expected to score a heck of a lot more than ours are. The top line is producing more offense than the rest of the forwards combined, if I'm not mistaken...
Edit:the top line has produced 3 less goals than the reestof the forwards, as per the above post.

The Paul Byron that has 7 pts in 21 games? I never understand the love affair with that guy.

Byron would actually be a fantastic fit. Flames are lacking some speed in their bottom 6 and could use a different look on the PK so Byron checks a lot of boxes. But we're not getting him for Stajan or Brouwer, that's just wishful thinking on Vinny01's part.

I would love Byron back... I feel like we're missing him in the bottom 6.

I’d rather see how we could fit Dube and Mangiapane in the lineup next year.

Some prospects need to be on a top six line and won't work out if they are asked to work their way up the lineup (Sven comes to mind). But Dube is a guy who IMO could handle an assignment on most lines.

This is my stance as well.
Bennett- Janko- Mangiapane
Lazar - Dube - Hathaway
A nice young looking bottom 6

Yea, for example, last year I think it was Dube was asked to play a checking role for team Canada and did that fairly well.

I third this. Time for Tre to stop tinkering and let this team grow organically.

If we're looking bottom 6, I suspect it's bottom 3.
I bet we're looking for Cody Mcleod, Ryan Reaves, type.
Aren't many who can keep up with our team speed

Hrivik can be called up; speed, size, skill, 2-way game. He's done well in the AHL as well.
Lazar/Versteeg-Hrivik/Lazar-Brouwer/Versteeg
Hamilton can take Hrivik's spot in the A. Demote Stajan too, let him start his next chapter similar to McGratton.

I agree that Johnny and Mony most likely will slump (Ferland already has) at some point this season ~ it happens to every player though the length of the slump varies obviously ~ but at the same time Johnny/Mony have clearly taken a step in their overall talent adding a hot start to their resume. I can easily see Mony finishing with 40 G / 70 P & Johnny putting up 30 G / 90 P this year and I don't think secondary scoring is going to be suffacated for the entire season.
This team is bottom six scoring, better PK more consistent D away from being a top 5 team in the league. They've shown what they can do over a long period of time being a top 5 team for 50 games last season; if they put it together right now we could be dangerous IMO and we really aren't that far off.

I wonder how much Montreal regrets the Price extension. His injuries of late make that co tract with viable and it has not even kicked in yet.
If the Hans enter a rebuild Pacerietty is likely their only good trade chip.
Both Weber and Price would be contract dump type moves at best.

3M line will pick it up, Bennett-Jankowski-Jagr line have shown they have scoring touch (+ 2 posts yesterday). We’ll be fine offensively. Gotta tighten up that D though.

Tighten up defensively, fix the PK, limit Brodie's icetime a bit (Kulak can take some more minutes).
If they can do this they'll be in good shape. Add a scoring threat at the deadline and maybe one more good depth guy (Byron/Donskoi/Janmark type) and I'd expect a deep run.

Treliving is shopping thats for certain. It'll be interesting if he is just setting up his plate for D-Day or if he wants this done earlier.
Buffalo and Montreal seem ripe for the pickins
