No, did I say something like that?
Yeah Witkowski was just raging all over the place, but he's a plug and I don't agree with Tkachuk that he wasn't going away. Yeah he was taking his time, but Tkachuk clearly goes right at him to piss him off further, and that's a big reason how the whole thing escalated from one fight to a mess of a brawl.
Not that I'm terribly upset about it or anything. I just felt it was unnecessary and might have unfortunate (obviously un-intended) side-effects.
That said:
That attitude / behavior is however part of Tkachuks game, and generally I love him being the way he is. Just here it probably would have been better to just let it go.

Lack was not the problem. Players on the ice being equal, Smith loses this game if he starts as well.

Hopefully this turns into a rallying point like that Vancouver game a few years ago.

Let’s see how the wheel of justice turns. Refs were always good for a mid 3rd Wings phantom PP if the game was close.
But, no more Mike Illitch to make that call to NYC.
That’s a 10 gamer, cut and dried for coming back to th ice after being off. And then the cheapness of Mantha to continue to throw while on the ground. He will get his too.

I think you are way off in your assessment of what went down. You could have a career as an NHL ref
lots of things to pile on the Flames about tonight...the brawl certainly isn't one of them.

I have no problem with anything any flames player did and in fact I’m glad they showed some emotion. This will bring the team together. Just like the Canucks brawl a few years back.

I'm having a hard time envisioning the league suspending two players from one team but Witkowski and Mantha both deserve to sit a few.

I said it wasn't his fault...he is not good enough though
.813 save% on the season...team is obviously terrified to put him in net

Lack was horrible needs to make a clutch save here or there which is what Smith does. Gillies however I do not blame for the goals he let in, the game was lost at that point.

worked a 12 hr shift. Got home, checked my phone, 6-2 with 5 min or so left.....move on.
Flames will do better next game.
From the sounds of it, a few refs need to be suspended for doing a poor job.

I appreciate that.
I do think Sv% is a horrible stat to pin on a goalie with a small sample size, especially with anomaly games like tonight as a huge contribution.
A big part of statistics is statistical significance

Witkowski definitely should get a suspension for returning on the ice. He's ultimately the biggest reason for the whole mess. Needs to keep his head together better.

Really... I obviously dont know you or what you do, but I think a lot of early 20 year olds need a lot of guidence and preperation from their boss's. Now I could be wrong and thats just my opinion as I have only worked as a proffesional and not played pro sports.
Also teaching them to play a certin way is for practice. On game day his job is to prep the team for the opponent and make sure they are engaged/ready.

I guess this is Witkowski's 5 minutes of fame. He must really want to play in this league by tiring to start a fight with Ferland. I don't blame Ferland for not fighting s player that likely won't be in the league by the midpoint of the season.
Ferland is playing great hockey, is now getting PP minutes so why risk busting a hand. Janko is clearly not a fighter but at 6'5" he is not about to hide. Kulak and Janko are just getting their break and do not need to take on that role.

I defer to Gully's comments
Which was he supposed to save?
