Maybe some don't want to be high all the time and yet still want the benefits. Finding bud that will get you high isn't really that hard, finding strains that do what was asked is a little more difficult.
Can you point out where the bolded part of your post happens to be in the actual comment I replied to?

Also, using the words "a person's" is a really big clue that the post was meant for all readers of the thread and not just you. You may want to double check the thc levels on your prescription, Cheech.

Look out for Hurkle(Chester), Sharks Tooth, - or any strain under 10% THC with a CBD rating over 5. Those will give a mild high in line with other prescription meds.

Cannatonic is Aurora's high CBD strain, and it's also available in an oil. If you want true medical marijuana and no high, that's how it's done.

Yes. I have had high levels of inflammation resulting in a diagnosis of RA from a rheumatologist (even though my tests are negative for RA).

I've tried using an oil from Cannimed that is high in CBD but did not get any relief in the inflammation.

I'd give it a shot, though, if I were you. It's pretty safe and it just may do the trick for you, even though it didn't work for me.

I have been curious about the effects of "medical marijuana" for some time, since listening to Joe Rogan several years ago. While the "wonder" drug impression is perhaps over the top, I do wonder if it would benefit me. I do have anxiety/depression and take Prozac regularly. When I do not take I notice a very apparent decrease in my mood. I also have trouble sleeping and getting a good nights sleep.

Obviously, I have never partaken of the marijuana for whatever reason. Perhaps a small part of that is that it is (was?) illegal.

I have wondered about whether it would help me with my particular situation. I would like to experience the "high" but if I could also get the benefit of it without that so I could work that would be pretty good. I just like the idea of something grown and not cooked up in some lab.

The proper response is obviously to see my doctor and discuss it with her. However, I am a little skeptical about the "western medical bias" and would like the internet to diagnose me...or at least provide some thoughts to consider.

Thanks.

I could get a prescription if I wanted to. Crohn's Disease and Arthritis.

Just not my thing. Didn't like the high.

A former co-worker was very angry when he heard my opinion. He wanted me to buy the pot and sell it to him.

Just FYI, they make strains (high CBD) that don't give you the high. If you are interested medicinally maybe just try asking your doctor.

I think part of the gain of legalization is people not being afraid to be curious about the medical side of it.

Its funny how different people react and the different desire levels of what it will do to you for your intended purpose. I have it just for shift work induced insomnia, and its been the best thing I've ever used (and that includes years of zopiclone, serax, valium, ambien, etc), quick onset, no residual in the morning unlike pills with half lives of 8-12 hours. I tend to prefer the quick onset of smoking, I do wish there was a better alternative in that regard, I can't stand vaping, the taste is horrible and its entirely different. I made capsules, they were ok, I do have a 20% THC oil but that seems to cause some low level anxiety while laying in bed which isn't positive. I've tried high CBD strains but obviously not having any "physical" symptoms to relieve, I was quite underwhelmed. Which leads me to the point, for sleep I can say that it is absolutely incredible to lay in bed, feeling the "high" taking over while you sink into the mattress. Its the best feeling before falling asleep, which to me is the point. My problem is I haven't narrowed down a single strain that stays produced consistently enough to stick with, so I end up with smaller amounts of everything mid/high THC indica or hybrid under the sun, all with slightly varying effects and potency.

Your former co-worker is a fool, he could have just gotten a prescription on his own. The list of things for which cannabis is considered a valid treatment is incredibly long.
