- Jagr fights the puck all night but has his most productive night as a Flame
- Flames continue to prove luck had to even out and fill the net
- Bennett's first point
- Jankowski's first goal
- Kulak and Andersson assert themselves extremely well!
- Brodie is the best at skating the puck out of danger, but Kulak is suddenly a close second

I thought Kulak and Rasmus were very good! Quandry coming when Hamonic comes back, unfortunately that will mean Rasmus likely goes back down to Stockton. He's earned another game.
Speaking of the fourth line, I just loved Brouwer dropping the gloves with Abdelkader in the second period. I don’t think the Wing meant to put his stick on Smith’s injured paw, but it was good to see the Flame’s assistant captain jump in and settle things. Only two assists this season but Brouwer has played some of his best hockey in Calgary colours of late.
Really was great to see Brouwer stick up for his goaltender. I don't doubt that Abdelkader (or Acklemayer as Don Cherry calls him) put his stick on Smiths hurting glove hand on purpose. Abby plays that style, (see Kesler, Cooke, Smyth, Brown, our own Matty Tkachuk) making on purpose things look like accidents.
Loved that Brouwer starting punching head. He really is playing solid of late. With the amount of deserved whipping Troy gets around here, have to give him some kudos for embracing his lesser role and playing it well.

Thanks again for the Games Takes Bingo. Bang on imo. This was the best game of the season so far for me, just due to some of the young guys being up and showing we are just that much better than years past. GFG!

I've always said Kulak reminded me of Brodie but with a much better shot.
Will be interesting to see how it goes from here, now that he finally has what looks to be a solid NHL foothold and some confidence.
I think you could just keep Brodie with Stone and put Hamonic with Kulak and deploy the pairings relatively equally. Kulak has been that good. Plus, Stone and Brodie work well together.
How long can they keep Andersson down in Stockton? It seems to me he's ready to become a regular in the NHL. With Kulak showing better of late it's a bit of a conundrum that there's really only one spot available over the next few seasons.

I think they know it's coming and that's the last step in the whole thing.
First they hit it out of the park in back to back drafts. With Andersson, Kylington, Mangiapane, Tkachuk, Parsons, Dube, Fox and Phillips they had an above average stocking of their system allowing them to move picks to beef up the blueline with NHL ready players.
But they knew their prospect depth was on the blueline and the young guys would push. Instead of just gifting spots they earn them and then Hamonic and Smith are very movable contracts (Stone modified NTC) for futures to restock the next window.
Picks from 2018 and 2019 weren't likely to develop in time to service this window. Why not speed it up, then have a succession plan for futures down the road.

Those are the very best “problems” a GM can hope for.
Quality depth beats lack of depth every single time.
I think their depth on D has to be used this year. I still think they're missing a scoring winger, I know they don't become available often and it's easier said than done but if someone who can help the team now becomes available, they need to move someone from the backend to help up front.

I'm not worried, he looks like a guy that could still benefit a lot from playing big minutes at a lower level. It's only a real problem if there's nothing to be gained from him playing in AHL.
