Looked great out there, bringing some offense when it made sense and playing a smart defensive game. Great story to see him play his first game and not look out of place at all. Let's not forget he was also called out by Treliving after his first training cup a couple seasons ago for coming to camp out of shape. He took the challenge, came to camp this season in much better shape, was among the last cuts and in his first NHL game looked like he belongs!

Smith very good again...a good PPG from the Wings, and then like last game, a couple mental laziness errors by the Flames and seemingly out of nowhere, its in a great spot for the Wings to have a quality scoring chance, and they bury it.
