Well the good news is GG didn't double shift Gaudreau onto the 4th line after we were down!
The bad news is that he played the whole 4th line...with the 3rd pair. To...show Vancouver we're not even worried about being down a goal?

I'll take "Things Glen Gulutzan has being doing for over a calendar year" for 500, Alex

4th line and 3rd d pairing following a goal to go down 4-3. What the heck was he trying to do? He does this all the time and it's stupid. He's bad coach. It's the reason he has never been anything but mediocre in the NHL.
The sooner the Flames fire this guy the sooner we can start to play quality hockey.

Lol, do you actually think he is a good coach??
Perhaps watch a few games, or even look at the roster. 4th line and 3rd pairing right after the Nucks took the lead. Why may you ask? Because being down 1 goal isn't enough...

Why are you bumping this thread to complain about the coach? There are other threads dedicated to that topic.
Comes across as a troll attempt IMO.

Seems relevant. The last ten minutes was bad coaching.

Ya, Ikr. It's not like the topic of the thread is about GG being a good coach which I am disagreeing with. Sorry for being so off topic...

Glen Gulutzan is a ####ty coach. He might be a boy genius when it comes to the theory of the game but he couldn't game manage his way out of a wet paper bag. This team has peaked under his watch.

So wouldn't posting in the anti-Gulutzan thread make more sense?

Yes, but it is also relevant here. What isn't, is the nagging at how it shouldn't be here and even me responding to you which doesn't merit a response.
Also, if you ignore the fact that the Scorpion posted this and he has a little fetish with GG, I would be pretty sure that the thread title is just being sarcastic. As that was my first thought.

His usage of certain players is highly questionable, but no coach is perfect.
Overall, his system has been proven to be highly effective. All stats show this to be the case. He's a great coach who makes a couple questionable decisions. We'd be dumb to fire him.

It's going to be a long season if the Gulutzen haters post after every single loss even if the Flames dominate. Maybe I need to bump this thread with pro Gulutzen posts after every win to balance things out.

The player usage of Gulutzan is suspect at times, but I remember that being the case with Hartley as well, and it seems like just about every fanbase have issues with the coach about player usage. I think Gulutzan has gotten a bit closer to the fan sentiment when it comes to player usage over the course of the season so far though, so who knows, maybe we'll even see Stone on the PP soon.

Shouldn't the head coach of a professional sports team be one step ahead of the fans and not one step behind? If you ever wanted to see what a head coach with OCD looks like he's exhibit A. He's regimented to the point where I'm starting to get the feeling he's never going to improve or progress into a top coach and that his career to date in Dallas and Calgary is the best it's ever going to be.

This idiotic thread was started specifically because someone felt the need to pretend Gulutzan is a good coach after a win. So if you don't like the fact that people are going to talk about the coach in a thread about the coach, take it up with OP.
Others have made note of it in the PGT, but Gulutzan's idiotic line calling resulted in the fifth goal that sealed our fate. If you want to blame most of last night's debacle on players making idiotic decisions (hello, Brodie), feel free. But the coach most certainly contributed to the loss and most certainly deserves his criticism for it.
Also, given your user name, whining about people criticizing the coach is just a tad hypocritical.

Gulutzan is and will be the whipping boy this year. It will be interesting which NHL coach gets fired next.

To be fair to GG it is very hard to consistently win with zero production outside the top 2 lines.

Found a photo of the Flames coaching staff adjusting their lineup and making quick changes.

Idiotic thread? “Pretend” Gulutzan is a good coach?
Speaking of hypocritical, it’s not a great look for someone to talk down to other members of the fan base for having a problem with a certain reaction/POV while doing the exact same thing.
I think criticising GG is fine, but honestly, the lack of camaraderie and willingness to just be over the top anytime someone has an opinion your don’t like about the Flames is pretty sad. We’re all cheering for the same team, let’s remember that.
