Oh, I stand corrected then. That's good news. Though I stand by my comment about Captain Marvel / GOTG 3 / Nova if they're doing it coming first. I'm concerned that they're going to try to introduce those characters in Infinity War (including Adam Warlock, teased in GOTG 2), before giving them their own stand alone features. I think if they do that, it'll be pretty awkward.

In "Avengers", after Iron Man and Thor fight over Loki, Stark meets him on the ship and says: https://getyarn.io/yarn-clip/eb6de82...7-e8cda5eff775

"Point Break" is a reference to a 1990 movie about surfers fighting crime. The idea being that Hemsworth looks like a surfer dude.

Hah! That was my thought, too. Though, more along the lines of "Uh...there is a ton of really neat and powerful magical stuff just floating around in space now. Someone is gonna wanna look into that pretty quick..."

I'm still a little confused by this. They have said the story will cover 2 movies however it won't be a Part 1 and a Part 2.

I'm guessing this means the first movie won't be ending with any cliff hanger/to be continued and will instead have a minor conclusion with the full story arc to be wrapped up in the 2nd movie?

Who said that. It was introduced at D23 as part 1 and part 2.

It was initially Part 1 and Part 2 however it is now Avengers: Infinity War and an untitled Avengers Movie.

I just found a quote from Kevin Feige. It's pretty much what I thought, two distinct movies with the same elements:

Quote:
On movies like "The Hunger Games," or "Harry Potter," their concluding, split movies often have distinct parts to them; but are also part of a larger, climactic story. So what about "Infinity War," which isn't just split - but has other movies coming in between?

"That's very true," Feige said about the pause. "It's early days to talk about anything specifically, but I will say the intention of that is to do two, distinct stand-alone movies, as we do all the time. But because they [have] such shared elements, it felt appropriate. And we hadn't done it before! So it felt appropriate to do subgroupings like that. But I wouldn't call it one story that's cut in half. I would say it's going to be two distinct movies."

My understanding is that it's the exact same two movies that they announced two or three years ago or whenever that was. The only thing that has changed is that they are no longer gonna call it part one and part two, each movie will have distinct names.

Really enjoyed it! Cast chemistry is huge for me, and this one had it in spades.

I will agree with the thought above that some of the scene transitions were jarring.

I feel so old when no one gets that joke. And it’s not even that old a reference.

This movie was so well done. Love how they are pulling in all the other characters from the universe.

Loved the movie. The Kiwi director also voices Korg who steals the show. Great cameos, great subtle jokes, especially to an Aussie crowd (all the ships at the end are named after Holden cars). My wife who hates all Marvel/action movies left the theatre saying she wanted to see it again!

Justice league better be good, it's up against some stiff competition. If it's even remotely weak the high from this movie is going to really taint viewers opinions.

I think the tone will be completely different from Ragnorok that there won't be much comparison besides both having super powered beings. And the fact that lots of people loved Thor is a good thing for JL, the general audience doesn't know the difference between Marvel and DC, they will say wow I had a great time at a superhero film whats the next superhero movie.

I saw the newest JL trailer for the first time before Thor. It looked....disappointing. If my GF hadn't already bought the tickets, I would have passed on it until some reviews came in.

Chris Hemsworth really beefed up for this role, and the Thor franchise is 3 for 3 for Thor taking a bath scenes ha! I know it doesn't really matter but I appreciate when the actors look the part.

Ya honestly not enough credit goes to these actors for their transformations, I know they are millionaires with paid everything but still it takes a lot of self discipline. How many of us have a job we can never shut off? Because that is what it takes to look like that, he literally has to be eating on a strict diet 24/7 and training like crazy to get those results.

Hugh Jackman is another one that comes to mind about sacificing for his career.

That's something I've thought about before, too. But honestly...if I was basically paid to eat healthy and hit the gym all the time with a private trainer...I feel I could do it, too. But when I have to research everything myself, and fit it in around a 44hr/wk job on top of that...something's gotta give.

Okay, that was great.

-Loved the cameos by Matt Damon and Sam Neil in the Asgard play.
-Cate Blanchett was amazing
-Karl Urban killed it too, didn't even know he was in it.
-Jeff Goldblum was his insane funny self
-Loved that Ibris Elba as Heimdell got a bigger role
-Rachel House was hilarious as Goldblum's bodyguard lady
-And the director himself as the Rock alien

The humour was solid and on point. Was worried for an Marvel superhero movie it might be too much but the only obvious joke was Banner jumping from the ship, landing on the bridge and not turning into the Hulk yet.

Another huge win for the MCU. Hope these movies aren't overlooked come award season. Ten Best Picture nominations each year and Spiderman, Logan, Wonderwoman and Thor have been all high quality.
