I think that's more grounded in a blind dislike of Bartowski then reality, and even so that's easily fixed through the minors (Wortherspoon or Andersson) or spending a 3rd-4th pick to bring someone in. You don't fix a 5th or 6th D issue by spending a first round pick and two seconds along with 4M of cap space, especially when the most obvious hole on the team is on RW.

i've never understood the commontater hate that goes on in this forum (aside from Glen Healey).
Roger, Lou, Glencross, Simmer, Campbell, etc
The game is on TV. It's great. I wont complain at that price.
I've always suspected that those who complain the loudest play a tonne of NHL EA Sports or other video games and have developed a certain ear for a specific commentator. Anyone else won't measure up.

I don’t think Stone is a true number four so I don’t think they were solving a 5/6 problem they were solving a top 4 problem.

Stone's had a goal and been visible with some shots but let's not get ahead of ourselves here. Stone's looked pretty bad tonight in the d zone. He's a third pairing defenseman with some decent upside on special teams.

I try not to complain too much because I certainly couldn't do even half the job the worst does. That being said No one will ever hold even a stub of wax of a candle to Peter Maher. We've been blessed and spoiled absolutely rotten by one of the best in the business.

Maybe so, but I think a Top 4 of Giordano, Hamilton, Brodie, and Stone is quite good.
That said, if the Flames don't feel he is a top 4, then let him walk. You don't spend 3.5M of cap space on a 5th D, let alone when there are obvious concerns elsewhere.
