I thought Calgary came on stronger as the period went on. A long stretch at the start, but after that I don't think you're characterizing the period correctly.

I think we need to ship Bennett as far away as possible from this team. Seriously lucky to be tied although we missed a couple opportunities as well. I get the feeling that we will be in some serious trouble as the season goes on but hopefully I'm wrong.
This team is just boring to watch and if they have more than 1 day off they come back lacking any defense awareness or let alone any chemistry and they play like a steaming pile of ####. Thank christ for Mike Smith that's all I can say This team reminds me previous flames teams circa 2009-2013.

The way I see it, due to his seemingly poor play he feels he needs to ramp it up a gear. In Sam's world that means more aggression.
IMO, this is a coaching thing at this point, and they need to help him get that aggression churning in a way that isn't putting him in the box. It's him not finding that gear at the right moment that is killing his game.

He has played 172 NHL games which is over the exemption limit for players of his age (160 I think)

It's quite surprising. This is a national broadcast and its happened before on national broadcasts. You'd think that heads would roll after the 3rd or 4th consecutive time of this happening, but it just keeps happening....
