I wasn't going to post this but I will so people can understand why I took offense to fat shaming.
I was bullied in school when I moved to a new school for the final year of elementary. Fat shaming was the favorite topic, even though I couldn't be considered overweight, or close to it until I was into my 20s.
My kids are fat shamed by a couple of select people. They aren't overweight either, but they aren't skinny little runts. My eldest gets quiet and upset when he's around people who do fat shame, because he feels like he could be a target.
People who aren't the target can still be affected by it, especially if they were previously victims or already have issues with their self image. If somebody who is healthy sees that somebody else is called fat, they can also start to think "well if that person is fat, then I'm way worse", when in truth they aren't. So, I like to speak out against fat shaming when I get a chance.

Yeah, well Facebook is your problem right there. There's no greater collection of holier than thou hypocrites ready to pounce on any perceived violation of anyone's rights anywhere on the Internet. Just stay away from there and you will be fine.

Everyone thinks it's their duty to be offended and outraged. It's really hurt stand up comedy.

But if we're going with Button non-deals happening, we lose Iginla for Peca IIRC.

Button's biggest regret is still probably letting Marty St.Louis go.
Imagine 2004 with that guy.

Imagine if the Flames had gotten their guy, Todd Harvey, on the Nieuwendyk trade.

Oh Craig Button. We already hate you for the moves you did make and now you are making us hate you for the moves you didn't make.

I still cannot believe he was a GM for as long as he was. He was abysmal.
Man those were some dark times.....on the heels of Al Coates 2 horrible GM's in a row after Cliff.

Have you forgotten Doug Risebrough? Possibly the worst GM the Flames ever had. 3 pretty bad GMs in a row, but Coates was in an unwinnable situation and did the best he could considering how hard it was for the Flames to compete financially.

In retrospect we can say all sorts of things about Derek Morris, but at the time he was the first decent d-man the Flames developed in the young gun era. He was also our #1, a hefty price for sure.

I remember before one of the playoff games in 2004, calgARI and I were talking to Craig Button. I jokingly asked 'why didn't you trade for Miikka Kiprusoff?' but he didn't seem to find the humour in it and started explaining, 'well we had Turek, etc etc etc'. I'm sure he would have loved to have made that trade also.

In return for Giguere’s services, the Flames acquired Anaheim’s second round pick which turned into 43rd overall. However, Calgary would not hold onto that draft pick, trading it to the Washington Capitals for Miika Elomo and a fourth round pick.
Like, who is Miika Elomo?

He is Ruslan Zainullin's roommate.
