The only exception to this was Iggy, but that was strictly a pre-game ceremony where it was acceptable to applaud him. Once the puck drops, you are mortal enemies.
I'm never cheering for the opposition, but as a hockey fan I can appreciate a great save or fantastic offensive play. Mild, begrudging applause out of respect for an outstanding individual effort is ok on occasion.

There's nothing wrong with cheering for another player, you just don't want to cheer for the other team to win...unless you're an oiler fan in April. It's part of their heritage.

I remember that game well and being there I felt the exact same way, I was so disappointed in our fan-base. Then I got drunk and forgot all about it...

Yeah, no.

McDavid lighting up the Flames would never elicit a cheer or applause from me, even if they were Ovechkin-esque goals. I cheer for Iggy when he's not playing the Flames because he's my all-time favorite player, but I would never EVER cheer a goal he scored against the Flames.

If by theory you mean proven fact, then yes.

Anywho, the Pens have been terrible on the 2nd night of back-to-backs, if the Flame score anything less then 13 goals it will be much disappoint.

So, on a cold wintery day, Our Hero turns to thoughts of science. There are two questions that he is pondering: one - can Penguins fly?; and two - if not, what sort of velocity will they achieve in free-fall?

Spoiler!

Go Flames

A long break between games likely means a sluggish effort and a Flames loss. I hope I'm wrong.

Found it interesting that it's an optional skate today to boot.

They've had 2 days of practice in a row. Optional on a gameday is status quo is it not?

Oh, so it's puppets, not glass that's falling from Brookfield Place.

Why do people keep splitting up the 3m line ?

It's not going to happen. It's arguably our best and most consistent line

Supposed to be panes of glass. That building's had three windows blown out into the street in the past few weeks. Nobody's been injured, but it's caused a bit of chaos downtown.

Only 3 teams at 11 GP

So 24 other teams at 12 and 13 GP

And Pitts at 14 GP. Nothing really remarkable here.

Another Unremarkable thing.. these GDT's OP's with no real effort.
I used to enjoy some of the writeups and news updates of the GDT's.

Now people are rushing to be the OP with zero content.
