Which one? Sadly, there have been a few.

The Frosty Mug debacle was one . . . . . he appeared to have been caught arguing with himself under two handles with two completely different personalities . . . . . he didn't react very well when asked, privately, if it were true. Unfortunately, my PM query used "Cowperson" instead of "Moderator." His reaction was out of all proportion to the circumstances.

"Lanny is a ######bag" was delivered by TurekGirl but you might not remember that line was, I think, part of a roughly 3000 post thread of epic, free-for-all turbulence.

Not any particular thread, but Sept. 11, 2001 was a pretty interesting, embittered day at Calgarypuck, before an off-topic board existed, where you learned things about people you never would have guessed before just from hockey talk.

The Jeff Gordon Jihad was going quite well until some posters unwisely started talking about it on the board, with word finally getting back to the victim . . . . who then turned up at Calgarypuck under his own name. The lesson learned? The best Jihad is a silent one.

One obscure thread that most probably don't remember revolved around one of our left wing friends going ballistic because the Americans had quite sensibly shaved off the top of a hill in Afghanistan with air power rather than charging up it whooping ala Teddy Roosevelt at San Juan to give the poor Taliban a sporting chance. It was a very entertaining debate.

The Gilbert debates. The misunderstood Savard debates. The misunderstood Val Bure debates. Dave Lowry losing the captaincy . . . good grief, Dave Lowry was captain of the Flames at one point!!!

One of my favorites was all the threads by that kid with the timmy hunter handle who kept posting all those threads about what his dad said the flames should do.

Yep, that one is certainly a modern classic. Good call.

Is there anyway to search for only 5-star threads?

recently, you had to love the power of the board when one of us helped get the smoking bylaw changed.

This one is so memorable to me because this happened at the same time as I found out about CP. I thought everyday there would be a Snowdude v. JD battle

I think the funniest was the Circumsision thread. Never have I seen foreskins so harshly ridiculed and fiercely defended in my life. That thread really got people fired up.

I didn't move, he got evicted. He had quite a few complaints and he was falling behind on his rent, so he got booted. I am sure it had a lot more to do with falling behind on his rent though... either way, I am happy.

I remember when Reggie would use only images in his posts for a couple of weeks. He actually got his point across pretty well for the most part!

I really liked Reggie driving everyone crazy with his "There was no last year" and "He'll make the team". Over and over and over.

Was likely already mentioned, but the "I Can't stop talking about Dion Phaneuf" thread was good fun

edit:

And "Polly Peena" posts are cult classics IMO

That was hardly a CP favourite moment. That was a moment of CP infamy.

*shudder*

The only good that came from that was that Reggie's windbag was totally let out at the end and he shut up for about 2 weeks afterward.

I'll throw in the "Maybe it's me" thread, where the girls actually got to discuss who were the hottest Flames players. That was a good one, that I don't think many of the boys liked.

Shooting the breeze on the way to the Heckle(number ?) with Displaced and Josef both along was great, as was the game and the time afterwards at some place in Red Deer(name ?). Do we have the lineup of all the guys who were there tucked away somewhere?
