Bennett shouldn't be rewarded with top line minutes but not because he has zero points, it's because he, at times, seems clueless at what he's supposed to be doing at certain points on the ice. As a centre he seemed particularly lost, and out of position and last night against Washington there were a few instances where on the backcheck he seemed to forget (or not realize) who he was supposed to pick up (one turned into a fairly high scoring chance).
If GG thinks he is doing everything that's being asked of him but he just can't score, he'd probably give him a shot, but given Johnny's average defence, I'm not sure putting Bennett on that line is the best idea.
If you want to get him going he should probably join the 3m line (and moving Tkachuk) but that line seems to be so in-sync I'm not sure you want to break them up.

People respond to you the way you do because you've continuously demonstrated you're completely devoid of context and only capable of viewing things one dimensionally.
Everything is to the extreme with you. That thread about Treliving is cringe-worthy and you actually came out and stated he's "the most over rated Flames GM" + "ever" in the last ten days.
You take your radical, overzealous and extreme opinions and trumpet them over and over again all the while sounding like you're the smartest guy here for having come up with them. When you are inevitably called out on it, you resort to questioning people's hockey knowledge when yours is akin to the worst tier of posters on HFboards.
It's painful.

Several people have pointed out to you that the Flames were on record as saying they would look at negotiating with him after July 1st as they didn't want to pay him what he would have been qualified at. There are several articles mentioning this showing Colborne was made aware but opted to sign for what he knew would be more money. It's a business good on him for doing so.
But you claiming the Flames wanted nothing to do with him because they share your irrational feeling that "he's terrible" - is delusional. They WERE looking to negotiate with him - at a lower dollar amount.
It's 100% fine to think Colborne wasn't worth re-signing at any price. No issues with that opinion. Calling him "terrible" and saying he has no heart or compete is asinine. He busted his a** for us in the playoffs and was solid during his time here. By all accounts he was a well liked team-mate, and his demeanor off the ice plays into that. Suggesting he needs to be kept away from young player because he's a "bad influence" is just you digging deeper and deeper into gross ignorant over-statments here.

Colborne was waived and now in the AHL a year after that post you thought was so crazy. All 31 teams didn't want him.
I think you just have an irrational dislike for me and that's fine. It's cute having a fan.

Does any of that make you any less insufferable?
I remember that well. Regardless of what you think of Colborne now or then, that entire conversation was the result of your inability to understand the Flames were interested in speaking with him at the time. A fact you stubbornly blocked out in one of your many "I'm the smartest guy in the room" tirades.
It's of no consequence with regard to your stubborn anti Treliving / several Flames players rants ruining multiple threads as of late while questioning people's hockey knowledge.

Sorry but it's very rational, and I'm far from the only one. You and Backlunds Socks are just about single handedly ruining discussion here as of late and many people have commented on it.

You make a valid point, but Bennett could be an exception given his pedigree and importance to the Flames.
|
This is the point. He needs some help getting going, needs some confidence. Why not give it a try for a few games. Could he be a better option than Ferland? Yes. I don't think he has earned it at all but he needs a kick start, this could help. Then reshuffle later if needed.

GG's job is to win. So he's going to put Bennett on the top line if he thinks it will get Bennett going and/or create more goals or creating the best line combos possible because that's good for winning. It's got nothing to do with "rewarding" Bennett.

#Flames practice. Is it me or is Jaromir Jagr still labouring a bit at practice?

I get the impression that... despite Eric Francis' insistence that it's Jankowski going down, it's 1 of Glass or Hamilton.
It looks to me like Gulutzan has decided that Bennett - Jankowski - Jagr will be a thing going forward.

Taking a while to get to 5000

Yep, have to think one of Lazar, Hamilton or Glass gets sent down tomorrow (Unless Roger is right and Jagr isn't quite ready yet). But after a few practices of those lines I'd have to think that's where its headed.

If the Flames are going to activate Jagr and keep Jankowski on the roster.
They need to waive or trade a player....
(Lazar, Glass, F Hamilton list of players all require waivers).
Unless that happens, it looks like Jankowski will be reassigned.

He forgot to add: "Hmmmmmmm..."
It's probably just you, Roger, since most of the people reading your tweets aren't at the practice.
