Really impressed with the Flames' effort so far. Hopefully they can keep it up.

So far Flames have had the upper hand but again they're unable to score. I have the sneaky suspicion that they'll take a bad penalty Washington will score and the flames will fold like a cheap tent. Seems to be the pattern at home so far for what ever reason.

Nice pass by Smith to Ferland there. Man, he's great with the puck.

Every time Tom Wilson is out there I cringe.

Default Capitals vs Flames

Enjoyable period so far
Good forecheck and no penalties equals a much better team to watch

Edit missed the penalty sigh

Brain dead penalty there. Honestly shocked they are still taking these stupid penalties.

Lines 1-3 and all the pairings have looked decent and energized.

Again 4th line dragging everyone else down and still being given ample ice time. Seen them out as much as Gaudreau/Monahan/Ferland if not more.

Why.

Solid start to the period, wish we could have capitalized on one of those scoring chances.

That 4th line really is heinous.

This is exactly what I'm worried about. The Flames sure are a fragile bunch when they get scored on. Their confidence just disappears and they end up playing scared for the rest of the game. Hopefully they can get that crap out of their system starting tonight.

Too much ice time for the 4th line. What have these guys got on GG?

Why.
He's given Backlund and Stajan most of the defensive zone starts and the other two lines the offensive ones.

Don't give Stajan defensive anythings if you want to win games.

This could very well be the undoing of our playoff chances. Seriously.

Brouwer and Stajan back out on the PK despite how unbelievably horrible they have been on it all season...I was really hoping we were going to get a better 2nd PK unit.
