Wow, grade A example of cherry picking. Clearly GG has done nothing right. He's just a moron surrounded by other morons who hired him.
GG is a head coach in the best league in the world. There are only 31 of them. I suspect he's better at what he does than what ever it is that you do. We can only imagine the list of criticisms a person could come up with watching you do your job:
-why did he pick up the garbage can like that?
-why did he throw the garbage on the street and not in the truck?
-why is he eating the garbage?
Your examples are silly and petty. To think that he and his staff haven't thought about everything you list & much more is just ignorant.
Stay in your lane bud. Reserve judgement for when it's appropriate. The same blow hards had the same gripes last year.

Yes, the absolute last thing a coach should do is see if there is chemistry between players. When would you like him to try lines? During a game? On EA NHL 18?
The coach plays the players that the GM gives him. An NHL coach (versus a hockey fan on a message board) would put together players so they would be able to give that GM a look and be able to provide solid commentary on how those players played together. The best predictor of future behaviour is past behaviour, this is a mantra of Executives and you need to PROVE past behaviour to get them to believe in future behaviour.
Example:
GG : I think a line of Jagr, Bennett and Janko will work, might be worth putting another guy on waivers.
BT : How did you come to this assumption?
GG: A poster on CP said it would work / I can see the future / I don't need to test anything, its better to make mistakes in games then practises.
Vs
GG: Jagr, Bennett and Janko had great chemistry and jam the last two practises, this could be the start of the solution to our bottom 6 scoring. What is your Feedback?
BT: I noticed them together in practise and I agree they looked great. Thanks for the FACTUAL INFORMATION instead of a non factual opinion.

Why are we so awful to each other? I'm getting so tired of reading the personal attacks here. It shows up in every damn thread.
What happened to respectful disagreement?

It doesn't exist on these boards anymore. Even Bingo is getting it from the resident troll. I would love to see the mods tighten up on the rules, the board would adjust because right now it is out of control.

High expectations going into the season paired with terrible play gets people riled up, myself included. If we were expected to be as good as Phoenix, people wouldn’t care so much, but on paper, this is a very good team that is currently abysmal and that pisses people off. It’s easy to say don’t get so emotionally invested in a game but this is the NHL in Canada, that doesn’t really exist outside band wagoners.

It's only gotten worse since I got here. It's especially bad with new users who have no reputation -- if they try to make a point that some "regulars" disagree with, they get pulled on relentlessly. It puts the "dis" in "disrespectful discourse".

You have no idea if the mods aren't handing out infractions. My guess is that they are and there have been lifetime suspensions recently and sin bins...

I never said I did know, just trying to find a solution to the lack of respect on here. We are all Flames fans, we can disagree about things but the team frustrations have brought some serious ugliness to these boards.

I find the troll posts are out of hand. After hearing the sky is falling in 13 different threads 10 games into the season and people suggesting the coaches and GM should be fired is just plan ridiculous. The majority of the posts are coming from extremely uneducated on the topic posters that cannot backup anything that they say and are strictly posting to start a argument.
I see 6 posts in this thread alone that are completely useless and are just there to be a troll.
In the thread Calgaryblood posted it’s just as bad, I don’t agree with his take but that’s fine as I believe he is trying to start a discussion versus start an argument. What I think is ridiculous is the posters jumping in to say nothing other than to play mob mentality In that thread and gang up on the minority opinion

You implied on another thread that another posters opinion was that of someone who doesn't watch the Flames. Look a little closer to home.

People forget how many people post here, too it seems. It's an annoying cycle where something major happens and dozens of posts follow because there's hundreds of active accounts.
Then a few people start to get up in arms like it's one person shouting the same thing over and over, then many who get "called out" as being overactive, react. I don't mean any offense but if you don't want to hear lots of people saying the same thing when things are going bad or good then maybe find a smaller message board?
The overreaction and crying to "too much negativity" is just as much of a determent to the board as anything.

Come on you have to admit calling someone a garbageman and then accusing them of eating garbage is pretty funny.

Jagr practicing on a line doesn't bug me. I assume GG practices with more than one game in mind, and he has to find out where Jagr best fits, give there's been little time so far.
I think that if there's any coaching fault it's that there are players who haven't executed the system right. Which means it's going to come and everything is all right, or GG can't get the message across, in case he will be let go.

Okay fine, but you just made an appeal to stop trolling and then immediately after decided you get to be the arbiter of what constitutes trolling and took a shot at many posters by suggesting that anyone who feels this isn't the right coaching staff is being ridiculous and is "extremely uneducated".
Can you seriously not see the absurdity in that? That's a major part of the problem (not to single you out) is that too many fans are looking to have their beliefs reinforced and disingenuously label everything else as trolling and uneducated/stupid posting.

I'm in agreement with the trolling, I don't tend to post all that much but it is getting tough to read. There was a thread recently where CroFlames had an opinion (albeit it wasn't a good one) and roughly 10 posters came in and steamrolled him. Maybe 1 or 2 were actually well reasoned arguments but lots of useless drive bys were said as well.

As much as HFboards blows I think the mods would be wise to use a little more "delete tactics" instead of threads warnings and infractions. Problem is there's dozens of mods over there where as CP only has a handful so it may be unreasonable.
It may seem like overkill but I'd just have a mod who's reading a thread anyways to just skim over, see a drive by that's meant to insult with no substance and just hit delete. There's so many of those these days and they tend to send any thread down the sewer in quick order.
If people knew useless posts were getting deleted a lot less of them would waste the time, especially if a certain number (say 10?) of deleted posts resulted in an infraction.
