3-5-2. Ugly start to the season as usual, why should this year be any different than the last twenty?

Its a really tough schedule the first 10 games. Lots of tough teams; 6 games on the road!
Hard games. Nashville (A), Anaheim (A), 0-1-1
Average games. St Louis (A), Winnipeg (H), LA (A), Edmonton (A), Minnesota (A) 2-2-1
Easy games. Ottawa (H), Vancouver (A), Carolina (H) - 2-1-0
4-4-2

There are no easy games in the NHL.

If they continue to play the way they are capable, I would guess they should win at least 5 games.
However, as luck plays a fairly large part in hockey, especially in the early part of the season, I think with luck they could win 7 or more games, and without any kind of luck, 3 or less.

Bump for anyone who wants to check what they predicted
I got my "mediocre start" prediction right, even though it hasn't really been what I thought. I expected a nervous team, not one that's sloppy on the defense and having trouble with penalties.
Still, not too bad. I think the team is trending for the better and should start to get some more wins.

I'm okay with the start, but .500 is not great

I picked 4-5-1 so they are one point better than I predicted. Baby steps I guess but to me the only different between last season's start and this one has been goaltending. The rest of the team has been just as bad as it was last time this season. Lots of penalties, bad PK, sloppy defense, not enough scoring, etc. Not seeing the year over year improvement you would like to see especially seeing the GM supposedly improved the talent level of the roster. It's early but it gets tiring seeing the team go through the same motions year after year.

Original guess was 5-4-1, 5-5-0 isn't too bad considering.

Team looks average right now. So after 10 games I guess that is acceptable.

I have to agree. Most teams that are below .500 after ten don't make the playoffs. 5-5 after ten gives the Flames a good foundation to make hay down the stretch.
