Jedis (Britain's 4th largest religion) want UN recognition...
http://www.dailymail.co.uk/pages/liv...n_page_id=1770
Quote:
Umada, 27, and Yunyun, 24, both from London, want the day to be renamed the ‘Interstellar Day of Tolerance’ to reflect millions of people across the globe who have chosen to follow the Jedi code as a religion and truly reflect social diversity.
For the protest in Whitehall, the couple will wear full Jedi Knight robes and will be accompanied by a host of supporters including Star Wars favourite Chewbacca with a placard reading ‘Tolerance for Jedis’.

Wow, and I thought i was a nerd.

There are also an estimated 70,000 Jedi knights in Australia, 53,000 in New Zealand and 20,000 in Canada.

Is this some kinda joke? I guess its as feasible to have a "jedi" religion as it is any other religion. As stupid as this is, is it any worse than scientology? Talk about uber nerds though.

Meh. I wouldn't wish them harm. What the difference between taking your ethics from a fictional film and taking them from a fictional book? If they don't **** me off by saying that men are better than women, or homosexuals are going to hell, or using a condom is a sin, then all the power to them.

53,000 in New Zealand probably means they have the highest number of Jedis per capita. Couple that with all the orcs and hobbits there and you've probably got the nerdiest country on Earth.

Go to Wikipedia and read up on Scientology and it is not too far fetched that the Jedi order could be a religion....
L.Ron Hubbards books aren't even that good...

It's about as reasonable as any other religion.
Anybody that makes fun of this but doesn't make fun of any other religion is an ignorant hypocrite.
Me, I make fun of both. To each his own, though. If you want to believe in the flying spaghetti monster, fill your boots, I say.

If you want to make fun of this religion or any one...fine...no prob. But you cannot compare Jedism or what ever it is called to Mainstream religions like Catholisism or Islam. Apples and oranges.

So I can't compare something made up 20 years ago to something made up 2000 years ago?
Just because a story was made up a long time ago doesn't make it any more legitimate than a story made up yesterday.
Bull**** is bull**** is bull****.
