Lesson here is: can't stop playing with 10 minutes left with a lead against any one.

That said this game can #### right off. Vast majority of 5 on 5 was controlled by the Flames. Bad mistakes at key times but nothing going our way either.

He said the same thing I was thinking. They should've jumped on them early and had two or three in the first. Just couldn't cash.

Also Versteeg is a very frustrating player. Essentially useless 5v5 and is very one dimensional on the powerplay. Will he ever do anything that isn't a slapper from the right point into the goalie's chest??

I don't think the Flames stopped playing at all...Wild just had a couple lucky/perfect shots...neither one was from great scoring position. Too bad Freddie didn't bury his chance.

Much better effort than the Carolina game, but unfortunately they became turnover machines in the 3rd and it killed them. Still lots of kinks to work out with this group. So damn frustrating.

Brian Elliot's unreal play for about 2 months had more to do with that than GG.

Without heroic goaltending so far this team is 2-6. Our coach has better pieces this year, but can't figure it out. His inability to adapt to his players strengths, and his clear favouritism are what prevents him from being a good coach.

At least Bennett didn't take a penalty, meanwhile Keller has 6 goals on an awful Arizona team. Linemates aren't an excuse, he's been so underwhelming

Treliving you'd better get Mark on a plane by tomorrow or I'm going to slap you. Thanks.

Bennett is also next to useless the way he's playing. Can we bench him?

Maybe, maybe it will hit Gulutzan in the head that he should move Bennett to wing.

Yes, he is totally wrong. This was games #8. The team is presently snakebitten and working their way through some issues with discipline and effort. But the fundamentals are there, and once things come together the Flames will start to play consistently like the look like they can.

He had 18 goals as a rookie as a winger. He is not a good center, we all know this. Why HE refuses to acknowledge this and put him on wing is beyond me.

You can't compare someone playing first unit power play with a guy playing on every third power play for twenty seconds at a time with the second unit. It's a very different psyche especially when you 5v5 shifts involve you passing the puck to Versteeg only for him to reliably turn the puck over thinking he's Patrick Kane or something.

Versteeg looked good for most of the night. Johnny looked good for most of the night. Monahan as well. Hell even Brouwer was looking good. But then there was a 5 minute section where everyone stopped skating. And we got beat. Not a bad game but not a great one.

Lol Versteeg was turning the puck over? Jeeeeez I know you love Bennett but that's just silly.

Bennett was turning the puck over all night and all season. Can you just stop making excuses for him?

Sam Bennett is not a good hockey player. Sucks to whiff on that pick.
