What I'm not understanding is, Gultzan preaching in the pre game how carolina is a fast team. Yet we ice Stajan and Glass. Instead of Lazar and F. Hamilton?

I never was much of a fan of GG, but after last years playoff push, I held my tongue. Then I wondered again once we were swept handily... And Im still wondering if hes the guy to get the best out of this group.
It could be growing pains, but he sure sends out odd personnel in high pressure moments... The forwards creativity seems to be heavily lacking, and our "elite" D gives up a butt-ton of shots... I know, theres substantial variables, but I see a bit of a coaching and/or leadership issue here.
lost all credibility here...with NHL average goal tending the series is at least tied after 4 games
The problem with Bennett is that he essentially only has offense on the rush. He can't set a play up in the offensive zone. On the defensive side, he can't read the play well and is frequently caught out of position forcing him to take a penalty.
Anyway, he's demonstrating mediocre to outright bad hockey sense for more than a season now. Highly concerning. Should be exploring trades and/or moving him to the wing.

Have a glimpse of how Yamamoto look in the Hawk's game vs Bennett almost make me cry
Yeah I have no envious feelings towards Yamamoto. I really don't. Edmonton is way overplaying him. Has the odd play with all that ice time and an elite linemate but otherwise looks like a wimp in over his head.
Jankowski's going to be a beaut on the other hand. If he ever gets a legitimate chance here, that is.... but I'm pretty content with the young talent coming.
Frustrating one to watch... so many passes winding up behind the intended target. Early in the third it looked and sounded like they were all chopping at the puck with canoe paddles. Lower bowl was half empty at the opening face off too, which was a little wierd to look down at.
Went to this game. The Flames continue to force pucks up the boards. Not enough skating. Jagr was the best Flame tonight. Gaudreau was bad, but I think that's a byproduct of the style they play. Smith was awesome again.
Reading this thread you'd think the Flames has just lost 5-1 to the Coyotes instead of a one goal loss to a pretty good Canes team.
Losing is always disappointing but this one could have gone either way and personally is not something I am going to start freaking out about.
I'm not sure I agree here, we had an outstanding performance from our goaltender who kept us within two goals and a shot at a comeback. I think we all have expectations that the flames are now a 'pretty good team' in the NHL, and so a luckluster performance where we lean heavily in our goalie is not easy to swallow.

Sure, but was still baffled when Elliot was started again, and again...

Good lord. Nobody is "freaking out". This is a message board is it not? Is this place not for discussion? About the game we just watched?
Which sucked? And in which the Flames sucked? What is wrong with some of you. Bad things happen, that's part of sports, that's what we talk about here. It shouldn't bruise feelings too much.
