Taking a while to get to 5000

Emotions aside, is Bennett for Reinhart really that crazy? Fresh start for both, puts each player closer to home, fills needs for both clubs etc. I'm not saying they should, would or can, just saying it isn't that crazy.

Solves The #1 RW issue and clears a top 9 center spot for Jankowski.

Bennett > Reinhart.
Buffalo is also after D, so I’m not opposed to one of our near NHL ready d-men in a deal for Reinhart. After buying out Brouwer this summer, our bottom 6 RW’s could be Reinhart and Lazar. That’s nice depth - but Reinhart is not the solution to the top RW spot.

Why not try Bennett there?

If all the toe drags and soft play give you a chub then that's your prerogative. I'll take Sam's grit every time.
Also, it's asinine posts like this that make people think you're trolling.

Bennett has done nothing to be considered "better" than Reinhart.
Both have struggled so far this year, and Reinhart has a better track record the past 2 years.

I don't think Bennett is the fit with Monahan and Gaudreau. If you do move him to wing (which is contingent on both a Backlund extension and Jankowski being a bona fide #3C) I think the best fit is with Backlund and Frolik, with Tkachuk going to the top line.
Gaudreau - Monahan - Tkachuk
Bennett - Backlund - Frolik
Vertseeg - Jankowski - Jagr
The the 4th line is 3 of Ferland (LW or RW), Stajan (C or LW), Brouwer (RW), Lazar (C or RW), Glass (LW).
That locks in the top 6 and the 3rd line C long term, giving two very strong lines and a 3rd line where the team can promote from within (Ferland, Lazar, Mangiapane, Foo, etc.) or grab a good veteran UFA to add to the team (e.g. Versteeg)
Now, one solution to avoid breaking up the 3M line is to use Bennett to land a #1RW, but in a swap deal you have to see Reinhart being that #1 guy. I am not sold. If you trade Bennett, with the team moving into win-now mode, then it needs to improve the team, not be a lateral, change of scenery (for the sake of change) move.

trolling? look up bennets numbers and compare them to RNHs.
edit:
Ill concede RNH <= Bennnett

In the scenario where neither reaches their potential, Bennett offers more as a 3rd line center than Reinhart would.

In what universe? RNH is a soft vastly overpaid first overall bust. Bennett has not broke out yet but even if he never becomes a #1 C his other intangibles still make him valuable. Sometimes you really come off as an Oilers fan in sheeps clothing.

That's great, if you're drafting for a fantasy league take RNH.
If you're building an actual hockey team you take the developing prospect.

Look I agreed with on Bennett being better, but Bennett is no longer a prospect this is his third year in the league while playing two full seasons things aren't looking rosy for him.

Reinhart has already proven to be a complimentary ~50 point winger. I would say that's at least as valuable as a third line center.

No but if the Jets had not been patient with Scheifele imagine the disaster that would be now. Sometimes centres take longer to learn their craft, Bennett will be fine.

Reinhart and Bennett are a lot closer than Flame wants want to admit. I dont think Buffalo even makes that trade. Theyd just keep Reinhart if they wanted a project forward.
Reinhart is coming off 42 and 47 point seasons while Bennett is coming off 36 and 26 point seasons while being worse defensively.
