Give me a break. Bennett hasn't done a damn thing since his first year in the league. I'd say he's actually regressed. If anything this site is too soft on him.

Maybe the Canucks could have had a ticky tacky one or two called but end the day the Flames are just playing kinda stupid hockey.

So after the Flames have killed 5 penalties, the Canucks have committed 3 flagrant penalties since and not been called for any... I just don't get the NHL.

I don't want to excuse the Flames for their penalties because ethey played undisciplined but I counted three "sure" penalties that the Canucks didn't get called on.

It's a weird dynamic where the NHL has tightened up so much that almost anything called can be justified as a penalty when it's called yet you'll see the same infraction three times before the random one is called.

They can't let frustration get them off task. Just need to move pucks better on the breakouts and they'll get into rhythm

I'm getting really frustrated with Bennett. He isn't focused tonight and is taking stupid penalties for the third straight game. He might be a candidate to sit a game if he doesn't smarten up.

For one, no one is acknowledging why they’re happening and they’re just slamming players for no reason.

Both of Bennett’s penalties were a result of him trying to cover up for the Gio/Hamilton pairing screwing the pooch.

Instead of acknowledging that, they just pile on Bennett. It’s a completely inaccurate read of the play, and I guess people just like to pile on players for the hell of it. It’s, as he put it, brutal.

Nope, consistently out of position thus the penalties, I like the kid too, but he’s responsible for his sub par play.

Gaudreau was practically being molested by the Canuck player and didn't get a call.... Where are the standards?

Keep Tkachuk on the top line, call up Janko and let Bennett be Backlunds winger. Bennett has not proved he can be a center in the NHL

The situations presented themselves to him, yet he's made the lazy play instead of battling harder or skating a bit harder to be in a position where he doesn't have to take a penalty.

Bennett is often guilty of making the lazy play because he thinks he can get away with it. You don't see Gio making lazy plays out there, and that's the difference between a guy who gets it and a young guy with potential who's still learning what to do.

Bennett should not be above criticism.

I know it's the first and outside of the PK's they've looked good, but let's be real, for a 4th overall pick Bennett has been a massive disappointment.
