One can tell that Rick Ball at times is waiting for her to shut the hell up so he can do the play by play. Pucks in motion and she still talks. There was one time he was bout to say something, but then stopped himself as she was still blabbering.

5-0... bad game yes, but maybe all that money on defence should goto some forwards who can score. I mean why have all these high priced defencemen when you play a system that doesn’t let them join the rush? or even have 2 out on the pp? Seems like a mismanagement of assets. More importantly, they haven’t even been that good defensively.

Actually the value of each of those contracts are pretty good right now, and the hit of the top 5 is pretty manageable. While I agree that a major focus should have been a top flight winger for the first line, it's tough when you have over $8 million invested in 2 fourth liners.
I believe that to be the bigger issue.

This was just one of those bad games every team has. They really need to clean up the D and stop trying to make the perfect play and shoot the damn puck. We will be fine.
