Great. Now the third period will be played at the Sens blueline with five of them at the line.

You know how Boucher coaches - and the players are playing hard, but there’s nothing in place to generate offensive chances. Where’s the game plan? Where’s the counter attack? He should bring more to a game like this.
We’ve had 3 scoring opportunities all game and only 1 of them ended in a shot on goal.

So he comes out and talks about how the team needs to be more responsible defensively. They clamp it down tonight allowing less than 5 decent scoring chances through 2 periods yet the Sens have found a way to capitalize. The Flames have still carried the bulk of the play and been the better team overall.
But yeah, Gulutzan sucks.

Flames have to come out with a game plan to get through it.

Wow. I'm at the game and this reminds me of when Minnesota used to roll through here in like 2007. So boring. Don't even want to be here, building has zero energy, and just no flow.
Partially on the refs, but the Senators brand of hockey is pathetic. No wonder they can't fill any of the seats there.

Flames vs. Sens. Channels 302/326 on Shaw

They’ve scored 0 goals.
Good coaching = good defense, no offense?
I’m not saying Gulutzan sucks at all. I’m saying so far in this game his game plan has been underwhelming. This is what the Sens do, and it’s beatable when you plan for it.
This 3rd period is going to be interesting. We know the Sens will sit 5 back, and the only way you beat it is with speed. We’ll see how the Flames play.

I hope the Flames at least score one goal.
They've been good with possession, but they need to take more shots.

These are NHL refs we're talking about here. How many high sticks do they miss that always have to be called? They're gonna miss calls, but that doesn't mean you give them the ability to call it when they see it.

Refs seem to be calling that penalty only down low in the offensive zone. Flames haven’t had a lot of possession down low in Ottawa’s zone tonight for any amount of time.

Bad luck. It's hard to coach against bad puck bounces. Tonight, the bounces have gone entirely the Senators way. It doesn't mean Gulutzan didn't prepare them well.
And no, I don't always attribute losses to bad puck luck.
