After a scoreless first, the Panthers give up an early power play goal to the Blues to start the 2nd.

Shortly after, Ian McCoshen gets his first ever NHL goal.

Shortly after that, during a penalty kill, Vincent Trocheck gets a breakaway and scores a short-handed goal to put the Panthers up 2-1.

Luongo shutting the door on lots of good chances by the Blues.

McCann with his 2nd of the season on the power play.

3-1 Panthers.

Schenn has a goal called back due to a high stick. Video review confirms. It looks like it was the right call.

Still 3-1 Panthers.

Panthers given 5 straight penalties in this game. Hard to say that they were undeserved, but you'd think you'd get a call the other way too.

I'm just going to keep providing these updates to the clamoring rabble that are the Panthers fan base on this board.

Some games are just weird that way. I remember a Flames Columbus where the PPs were 10 to 2 in favor of Columbus. As a fan it is hard to process that.

I think I've just come to expect an even up call at some point. Refs are human and feel bad for giving out too many penalties in a row to the same team.

I honestly think I'd rather just call what deserves a call. I can adjust as a fan if the calls are consistent.

Scramble play after an initial great chance for Ekblad results in Huberdeau feeding Ekblad for the wide open net.

4-1 Panthers early in the 3rd.

Not bad considering the Blues only gave up 9 goals in their first 4 games. However, excitement should be attenuated since the Blues are playing their 3rd game in 4 nights and the Panthers haven't played in 4 days.

BTW, did anyone realize that Jack Capuano is now the assistant coach for the Panthers? Yeah, surprised me too. I don't remember hearing that announcement.

I like what Boughner has done so far with this team. Still some teaching to do for the young defense corps, but they are playing much smarter and more aggressive all over the ice.

Holy crap. Allen made a save on Barkov that was on a wide open net. Shot off the back boards came to Barkov on the open side and Allen......

....Oh wait, Allen pulled it out of the net. Nevermind. Looked amazing in real time though.

Play is under review: Allen's glove is clearly in the net and the puck is clearly in the glove. Can they see the puck in the net though? To be determined.

Brutal. It's clearly a goal, but because they can't see the puck directly, it's no goal. Dumb rule that goes against using basic logic.

Bjugstad with a pretty shot flying down the wing on the rush! 5-1 Panthers!

I'm just bored more than anything. Need someone to chat about hockey with. They are in short supply down here.

Boy Bjugstad and McCann are really having a brilliant start to their reclamation seasons.

They needed to. Another season like last year and they might be out of the NHL. Maybe not Bjugstad as much since he was a little more established, but McCann for sure.

Looks like they found that offense again. And Brickley has come out of nowhere. Nice find, like that Iafolo kid in L.A.

Honestly, FLA if they keep this up can be a major darkhorse in the East right beside New Jersey. They both look like they could easily supplant MTL and another team.

Shot count high again. Currently 38-38. I wouldn't think too much about the 40+ shots the Flames have been giving up.
