Yes but they need to trade one of those Dmen and they can't wait forever doing it.
Bartkowski is on a Two-way and Stajan retained at only 1 year left gives them a ready body to take on big minutes at center ice for them. McPhee is going to realize that playing nice at the expansion draft didn't earn him any favours and look at where it has him now.
Give us Stoner even though he is currently IR ~ We will throw in a prospect like Pollock who had a good camp and retain some salary on Stajan to boot.
Something like:
To Vegas:
Bartkowski ~ Two-way, keeps them stable in the minors on D (Flames are paying 612,500 for Bart)
Stajan ~ 15 % retained (3,125,000 becomes 2,656,250 / Flames pay 468,750)
Pollock
Money out for Flames ~ 2,656,250 + 612,500 [3,268,750]
To Flames:
Stoner (IR)
Money in for Flames ~ 3,250,000 + 468,750 (retained) [3,718,750]
This is a win win for both clubs and helps McPhee start to gain some traction as a GM; he needs to make a trade happen and doing one with a guy like Treliving would be good for him ~ especially one that is as good for both sides as this one would be.
