Perfect example of what I was talking about - songs you simply don't hear anymore. Voices is a great song but I haven't thought of it in years!
Well lookey here - the video! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1c5LsymCDZ8
No clue WDF is happening in that video.

Anything on the Discovery Channel is great.
If you're lucky enough to get Discovery HD, it's amazing. All great programming in HD and there are zero commercials.. none. Watched a great Shark related program tonight, caught something about the Pyramids being built last week.

I really enjoyed a short-lived series on Teletoon called The Oblongs. There are probably only 6 or 7 episodes of it, but each one is hilarious. I don't know why it never took off; I absolutely loved it.

I know of a couple of other people on the board who like it but I love the show "Clone High." Damn you, Mtv for cancelling it and making it financially unviable for a Canadian only production run.

While its true I grew up on the very edge of a small, dusty, prairie town with the odiferous smells of the nearby auction mart hovering and the tumbleweeds blowing up against a barbed wire fence across the street . . . . . I do love old cowboy movies.
"The Searchers" with John Wayne, "The Gunfighter" with Gregory Peck, "Destry Rides Again," "The Man Who Shot Liberty Valance," "Shane," "Winchester 73," "Stagecoach" . . . . .
If you want to see something hilarious find "Singing Sandy," a John Wayne serial from the early 1930's . . . . The Duke shouldn't be singing.
I'll watch some of the old, old serials like the early Lone Ranger and Annie Oakley stuff . . . . . less enamoured with the 1960's television westerns.

In the mid 80's the radio was tuned to the local AM radio station during my after-school job. I knew a LOT of the mid 80's pop. When I went to university in '87 suddenly I was exposed to a boatload of stuff I hadn't heard before - early REM, Cure, Erasure, Proclaimers, Clash, New Order, Depeche Mode, and so on....
(concert Frosh week - HooDoo Gurus. I had no clue who they were)
So I still love a really eclectic mix of 80's stuff.

I am fascinated by the paranormal. I love shows like Unsolved Mysteries, Creepy Canada, Psychic detectives etc.. Not so much aliens, but ghosts and psychic activity. I know I used to **** off my boyfriend when I would listen to Art Bell at like 2 in the morning... oh well!
I am a documentary-aholic too. I can watch a documentary about almost anything, and I will enjoy it... it's really kind of embarassing.

Good calls on both - first Art Bell - though I can't listen to him all the time - gives me the willies depending on the subject matter.
And I'm a documentary nut as well. It's been good to see the growth in popularity of them over the past few years. I ordered the documentary channel from Shaw, though its a bit dissapointing as it seems ot have a very high repeat quotient.

Sweet! I feel normal! I definately can only take Art Bell in doses, usually I can't even listen to his entire show, but man, I love it when I get the willies!
I definately second that about the documentary channel too! It's too bad.

Do you ever take photographs of them? If so, I'd love to see a few of them.
I have the same fascination--in fact, I have a project that I've been working on for about a year that blends text (prose poems) with B&W photos of abandoned and ruined buildings.
Cowperson--those Dick Tracy books are probably worth a lot of money, if they're in decent shape--not that you should ever sell them. You should endow them to the U of C Library in your will, and have it named "The Cowperson Collection."
As a grad student, everything I like is obscure.
