This is the thing. There has to be some golden mean. I mean which players have regressed and which players improved?

It seems to me the top end, key guys haven't adapted as well ie Gaudreau and Brodie. Maybe it's on them or maybe a they aren't in a system that plays to their strengths.

Ferland doing his usual disappearing act then will have one good game or a fight and he will be looked at as a first liner again.

He's a 3rd liner at best. So inconsistent. Guess he fits right in on the Top line.

Hmmm. Not liking the Sportsnet 1 colour commentator chick. Maybe it's my inner mysogynist but that voice has a paint-peeling quality to it.

No - its great that players who need to take steps forward (Smith, Bennett, Lazar) are having good starts to the season. I'm less concerned if players like Johnny and Monahan get slow starts, because I have a high level in confidence that they will have good seasons.

Don't worry Glue Gun is a great motivator. He had a beer on the train with the boys and was able to muster up enough liquid courage to actually speak with his players at the 50 game mark.

All we do is ice the puck. Over and over. Seems like all the time. Our defensive is clearly not working. Good thing our power play system is keeping us in there...
