Agreed. Seems that the team has to bring in seasoned outsiders for leadership, maybe it's time to acknowledge that the guys wearing letters for the Flames are flawed. Also a team with a 1C with the skating of #23 is going to struggle.

The swings on this forum is terrible. Beginning of last year = GG is terrible. Than the Flames go on a great run in the 2nd half and everyone is like GG is great, should be Jack Adams contender. Two games into this season and already we are back to GG is terrible. Watch the Flames win their next five and GG will be a legend.

Part of the coach’s job is to motivate. A good coach would sit someone floating.

I know it's the easy solution to blame the coach but honestly this crap has to be on Gulutzan's shoulders. There is too much talent on this team to be playing like this. They look completely disorganized. The breakouts are awful, defensive zone coverage is spotty, and the offense is practically nonexistent. The shots they do get are low percentage chances from the perimeter. I'm not sure what Gulutzan's system is exactly, but it's not working.

The Flames give zone entries up so easily to the opposition but can't break out clean and gain the zone themselves. It's super choppy and a minor miracle when they get any pressure.

Super easy to play against through 4 periods.

Jagr will split his time as a commentator and a player this year in preparation.

Definitely poor coaching but the players are just lost out there. Hard to put it all on Gulutzan when your players can't possibly execute his system skating at half speed.
