Just like when Brendan Morrison was drawing up PP formations for Dave Lowry & Brent!

The hype and expectations are immense for Jagr... hope he’s the holy grail everyone expects him to be... I hope I’m wrong but I suspect there is going to be a big letdown coming

Hype and excitement yes and why wouldn't Flames fans be pumped. Expectations not really, nobody is expecting him to get 50 points 30-40 can be done.

Except for all the fans that voted on the fan on Wednesday. The poll was an over or under 50 points for Jagr and 85 percent voted over.......

I haven't read about any outlandish expectations yet. Just.p a bunch of giddy fans having one of the all time great on this team. Not like Iggy great but top 5 all time great. There's reason to be giddy. We all know he's old as balls.

Yeah, I'm thinking mid-30s, I'd be ecstatic with anything over 40.

i'm guessing 15/15 or so. so roughly a 30 point season from Jagr. Which is more than anyone else we got would get playing in a similar role.

Jagr's points
Certainly don't expect 50+ but the guy is one season removed from 27 goals 66 point season. Last year he had 46 points, it certainly wouldn't surprise me to see him hit 50 points.

CaptainYooh and practice.. that's one of those "yikes" comments. You're viewing some tiny sliver of something and forming a whole opinion around it. Don't want to dogpile but it's really bizarre to say that. Obvious from even that viewing they're just inbetween whatever they're doing. Even Bingo's comment about kiddy hockey wasn't needed to fill in the blanks there.

I suppose the difference here is that expectations are he'll play on the third line (and likely #1 PP time). If he was getting 1st line minutes then my predictions would also be higher.

That's fair but GG rolls his top three pretty evenly 5on5, no?

3M will see harder match ups and if Jagr is getting first line powerplay time with Monahan and Gaudreau, 50 isn't all that crazy IMO.

I suppose its possible but I guess this is how I see it:

He 'only' scored 46 points, granted that was with a bad Florida team, maybe on a better team he gets more help, but at the same time on a better team he likely gets fewer minutes. I dont really know how to balance the two out.

I expect him to play top 6 minutes mostly, so yeah I'm expecting 40-50 points. Regardless of age or player.

If he doesn't, then the Flames had a weak season. I'm anticipating a lot of goals from the Flames.

You guys are underestimating Jagr here. Even last year he had a higher expected goal total then what he actually ended up with.

If anyone is a fan of Mike Kelly I recommend watching his video on Jagr for further analysis. I’m predicting 20 goals and 50 points if he gets into 75-80 games.

Thanks for the Vid. Interesting stuff. Personally I think people have been expecting him to regress for a half dozen years now, and he really hasn't. I'm calling the Jagr signing a success if he only teaches some of our young guys what it takes to be a Pro. Someone posted some stats on Jagr's teammates last year, and almost everyone had a 5% bump playing with him. If you get 5% more outta all your guys when Jagr is out on the Ice, that's worth his 2 million dollar mentor fee and more. If he chips in for 30 after that, its all bonus.
