I think this has been in the cards for awhile to get Bennett someone he can play with to teach him how to get to the next level. I think they know Bennett has all the skill but needs someone to help him harness it. We have seen that Bennett can score when he is doing things all by himself but if he can learn to play with a guy like Jagr he might break out in a big way.

The excitement of Jagr's first practice is a much needed distraction for the atrocity that occurred last night!

To give some context, Jagr has played more seasons of NHL hockey than years Sam Bennett has been alive.

I like how only every third post is ragging on Brouwer rather than every second before Jagr practicing..

I was trying to think of a really good metaphor, but the best I could come up with is it is like Jaromir Jagr showing up to give you hockey pointers.

I loved the intensity that Bennett was paying attention. Maybe I'm just projecting but it looked like he was soaking it all up and taking everything to heart.

The only problem with that twitter video is that I don't see the rest of the team being bag-skated for their brutal display last night...

Other than that, it was good.

Derek Wills @Fan960Wills
Head Coach Glen Gulutzan just told us Jaromir Jagr will decide if he plays in #Flames home-opener vs. #NHLJets on Saturday. #WPGvsCGY

At the very least it's good to see that they're looking to demote Brouwer ASAP

Funny to watch the 6-8 cameras at the bench (plus at least this one in the stands) all just going back and forth watching Jagr skate.

He must think we're all insane watching him skate back and forth like we've never seen anyone do it before!

When asked about how Jagr felt after 1st Flames practice .."not very good"

On whether Jagr would play Saturday vs WPG. Jagr says he will see as it is "day to day" in his mind. Right he's not feeling very good.

He got in the country like 20 hours ago. Might need a bit of time.

Since about two weeks into Bennett's rookie season I have thought nothing else but "Sam Bennett will succeed Giordano as the next captain of the Calgary Flames". He is our most driven player.
