Yeah the 2nd and 3rd line need to wake up tonight. Monahan and Gaudreau are getting a steady diet of McDavid so they aren’t going to have a good night, but whoever is getting ice against the Oilers 3rd line and bottom pairing should have been able to take advantage of it.

The game plan has sucked tonight. They're playing scared. Sacred to make mistakes. So everything is chip and chase and rim around the boards except for a few times.

This is not a dump it in team. The d don't carry it up ice to create that extra layer that allows a clean zone entry. Instead the fire it up and it gets chipped in and subsequently rammed down CGY's throats.

Agree with other posters here. Imagine if they played and practiced hard in the pre-season and didn't start every single year in a hole. What is wrong with our coaching?
