Hamilton had a few cringe worthy gaffs, but nothing to get bent out of shape about so early. Im treating this game like an extension of the preseason as the finished roster is not on the ice.

Brouwer is putting in a good effort, but the puck seems to die on his stick.

Other than Smith looking better than Elliott, it really looked a lot like last year's Flames out there.

The 3M line looking good, Brodie still continuing his season long slumber of not looking like himself, Brouwer still sucking balls, but most concerning is Gulutzan and staff being completely inept.

With Jagr not here yet Bennett should be playing with Versteeg and Janko, instead he rolls with Bennett-Brouwer which the whole world except the coaching staff knows don't work.

And of course our best PP dman by a mile doesn't get out with the 1st unit but rather mops up the last 30 secs on the 2nd unit while no shot Brodie is the only dman on the 1st unit.

All summer long to change the mind boggling stupidity but of course that would be asking too much.

As i've said previously, this team will never realize it's potential with GG 2.0 in charge. Another wasted season coming up.

Sorry for being so negative after 1 period but we've got a 1 year sample size on GG 2.0 not utilizing his players properly or able to make adjustments and it's already painfully obvious that's not gonna change this year.

Thougt the second and fourth lines were good. Gio/Dougie were good. Smith was excellent.

McDavids speed is honestly superhuman.

Brodie straight up needs to ignore GG

GG really doesn't seem to understand creativity when it comes to hockey and I think that's why I'm still not convinced that he's the coach that can take this team where it needs to go. The Flames can grind their way into the playoffs but it's not going to get them anywhere.
