I think there will be a trade coming over the next few days to get him back up here. I can't see them giving his spot to a guy who hasn't earned it. Anyone of Stajan, Brouwer, Lazar and Hathaway can go somewhere else. Brouwer really needs to fix himself this season. He needs to figure it out or I am afraid he is traded for peanuts and salary retained or a possible buy-out candidate. He can't be earning that much on a 4th line when we have younger guys in the AHL who can out play him.

Tre will make something happen. We can drag around these guys this year if the team is going for it.

glass and bartkowski on the opening day roster in 2017, just lmao

if jankowski does indeed stay down, it would be horrific judgment and decision-making. let's see how it plays out in the next week.

meanwhile, with a fourth line of glass/stajan/lazar, it looks like the flames want to repeat last year's season opening strategy of 'let's spot teams points when they can get their good players against our character pto leaders'

I was hoping the Flames would keep him to start the season. That being said I'm not entirely surprised he was among the final cuts.

People shouldn't worry, he will be the first call up and continue to rip it up in Stockton. He'll be back, there will be injuries.

Tre is still white wizard but his hat looks a little grayish and rumpled again.

Remember that time we had a lead in game 1 against the Ducks and then opened the second period with Barkowski-Bouma-Stajan-Brouwer-Engelland and they predictably proceed to allow a goal within 40 seconds?

Yeah, expecting more of that. Sigh.

Anyways I guess TSN can scratch #10 off this list:

Would way rather Janko tear up the AHL than get mucker minutes on the fourth line beside plugs.

I don't know what will happen but no trade is needed for Jankowski to be on the team. There are several guys that would have no problem clearing waivers.

Off of what list? I assume that the broken image link in your post is of TSN's "rookie watch" or something of the like sort, in which case I then must ask: Was Jankoswki dispatched to Stockton permanently for the 2017–18 season?

But as we have seen, rightly or wrongly, there are many more variables in play than merely the waiver wire when it comes to making the NHL.

If everything goes right for calgary this year, the fourth line can't afford to be nothing but plugs.

I also wonder how much 2nd pp and 2nd pk time Janko could see when he is up. He could see some actually meaningful minutes on this club, while being fourth line 5on5.

TSN's Calder Frontrunners list, actually.

Generally players who are in the running for the Calder trophy play more than the 26 games we afforded Micheal Ferland three years ago, the 31 games we afforded Markus Granlund two years ago, the 21 games we afforded Brett Kulak last year, or the 26 games we afforded Garnet Hathaway last year.

Jankowski being sent down really annoys me. This team does an abysmal job of developing talent in the minors. And when they finally do a good job, they find a way to screw it up.

I hope there’s a trade or move coming soon to get Jankowski back up to the NHL.

I don't want blame the Flames at all for keeping Lazar. He is a long term investment that they will not risk losing because he had a poor training camp.

I am disappointed Jankowski is not here. I will be upset if that is the case a month from now. Personally I think he will be coming back up soon and for good.

I am holding out hope the Flames have a deal in place for Brouwer.

Loved the Jagr signing and really didn't like the Glass deal. Hope Treliving makes a deal to free up space for Jankowski

Na, I hate to say it but the Flames will start 1-4 while scoring three goals and then they will bring him up.

Hmmm, this list seems to be missing 3 rather important rookies that the Flames played major minutes in the last 4 years or so. Can't quite put my finger on it...

Perhaps it's the ones who were never assigned to the Stockton Heat/Adirondack Flames at any point of their rookie season.

Its hard not to assume, there were/are no open spots and player like Jankowski no mater the camp he had would start the season in AHL

Unless an injury occurs....

But what the f good is being a call up.... for how long 2-3 years? The guy earned his shot for a full time gig plain and simple. They really have no choice but to put him on the 4th line because Mony, Backs and Bennett are the first 3 centres. And the first 3 sets of wings are set are they not? No one on the first 3 lines are going anywhere so you have 4th line guys as follows:

Stajan... Brouwer... Glass... Hamilton... Lazar

Two of these 4th liners need to go so Jankowski can even be on the team am I correct? I hope there’s a trade coming because if not Jankowski is getting royalty screwed
