I think Vegas must have a few trades lined up.

It's a bit of a bizarre move, McPhee still has 8 or 9 dmen on the roster as well.
This means Pickard is getting traded or waived unless he's just being obtuse and gonna try to slap Boston in the face and sneak Subban through waivers himself.
The good news is, looking at their projected lines a few minutes ago, they look really bad. Not old school expansion bad but at least Colorado bad. With how brutal the Coyotes look, there look to be only 6 teams in the Flames division that will be competitive for the 4ish playoff spots.

According to CapFriendly, they have 11 right now. 10 if they send waiver-exempt Theodore down.

He can't go through waivers again once claimed. He's on the team for the year now.

If Pickard were to be exposed, he is an upgrade over our current backup. But why would LV want Subban as a backup.

Has to be "frantic morning of final exams but procrastinated too long and didn't study yet" in Las Vegas GM office right now.

I know LV can assign Subban to their minor league team except Boston would be given first choice by the league whether to reclaim him if they so wish. If reclaimed though I'm not sure if Subban would have to go to the Bruins roster or be assigned to their minor league affiliation?

I would assume they'd have to place him back on waivers, as he technically would have never cleared.

IF Subban went back on Waivers Boston could claim him again and they than would be able to send him down. Maybe this is part of a prearranged transaction from the expansion draft. Can't see LV taking him to and then trying to send him down.

lisa dillman @reallisa
VGK moves: sent Hyka to Chicago Wolves; Pulkkinen cleared waivers, joined Wolves. Neal on injured-non roster list. Clayton Stoner on IR
by my math that gives them a 23 man roster with 10 forwards 10 d-men and 3 goalies
They will be compliant for today's roster deadline, but how long can they keep the roster like that?
