I do agree with most of what she's saying in those tweets, but god-damn if that doesn't come across as smug, abrasive, and unnecessarily political about race problems IMO. Maybe she could have wrote that next week, and instead spent the energy writing to her Congressman about gun control or something.

I don't know. I kind of like the brashness of some democratic congresspeople today. This lady's tweets fall in line with that.

The time of tip toeing around the problem in the aftermath of a tragedy is over. The spotlight is back on the the gun debate; time to take charge and speak frankly and harshly IMO. Shame these dumb dumbs who fight tooth and nail against regulations.

Upon further thought, I think what bothers me is the attempt to be a social media hero. Part of me thinks people like that just want their voice to be heard - and re-tweet over 50,000 times. Everyone (including myself) is good at commentating about crap but most people don't do anything about it to make actual change.

Sure, but in the US you can get something like this for a semi-automatic AR-15 for a few hundred dollars which makes the distinction basically irrelevant:

Go to around 0:45 if you want to avoid most of the ridiculous video and just see what's possible with a perfectly legal accessory.

Yeah, but the clear main problem is ease of access to military grade weaponry and ammo, that's always been the problem. Not sure how she was somehow able to tie anything back to race relations but it is the USA so I shouldn't be surprised.

Up until number 6 it's a decent prognostication and probably not too far off, to be honest.

They said he was attending the Route 91 Harvest music festival with his girlfriend, and they were supposed to return home Monday night.
"We only had one child," they said. "We just don't know what to do."

Thankfully there are guys like him around to help in a crisis. I'd like to think that by helping people over the fence, and putting himself at risk he saved a few people from an even worse fate.
We must know the same guy. Friend of a friend just told me the same thing about the same guy.

20 guns, and the guy is allegedly a multi-millionaire real estate investor. Getting stranger.
