I have Bennett on a white retro - i don't care that he has never worn it, I hate their current jerseys and own 3 retros.

Bought the retro Jagr without even thinking twice.
It's my favourite jersey and Jagr is an old school player.

 Just made sense for me.

Fair to say they didn't update the 2017 to 2018 January-on.

That being said, I bet they don't wear a retro jersey but just sell retro merch.

I hate to break it to you but there's no such thing as a jersey foul. A jersey foul is whatever each one of us says it is. It is a completely subjective and made up notion. So your version means about as your opinion on popped collars and mullets. In other words, it is meaningless.

And if you look at the schedule, we do in fact play Chicago on that day in 2018.

Wrong. There are jersey fouls so bad that cresting companies simply won't agree to do it.

Try putting Gretzky on a Flames jersey and see what happens. Even the people selling you the merch would agree the foul is so egregious, they won't even accept your money. It's not just one man's opinion.

As meaningless as anyone's opinions then? You're right it is meaningless. Just as your opinion that it's not a jersey foul is meaningless. It's all meaningless.

Bigger jersey foul was the Flames not changing to retros this season.

Jersey foul but then remind yourself you are a grown up wearing another man's name on your back and you're cheering for laundry. It's all ridiculous so do whatever makes you happy.

Think about this as a construct of society. We are wearing garments used to celebrate teams and players we like. And then there is a subset of people in our society who judge what is acceptable jersey and names to wear.
Its craziness. We are all grown adults wearing names and teams to make us happy and enjoy the game in our own way. I know what I would rather be between a guy being ok with himself making a "jersey foul" and being the guy dictating the rules for "accepting jersey wearing usage".

Seriously, its your $250. May as well put it to something you will be excited to wear.

If the player has never wore the jersey you will likely be judged.
But again you are supporting a sports team with your money so who gives a ####.
