My guess is, he walked into the store, told the clerk what he wanted, gave the clerk money in exchange for his items, and left.

Ditto this.
While on vacation on Fla this summer, met this couple at a party, both of them really nice until the conversation wandered into guns and they mentioned they owned over 200 guns and rifles. They claimed they had invested over 500 grand on weapons. That just made them creepy.

If I lived in the states I would have a gun in my house. Just for the reason if someone is breaking into my house there is a good chance they also have one

But I agree it's mental that it's legal to have killing machines

Source?

News outlets say the police haven’t released the info yet.

My dad was into olympic pistol shooting in his youth. Those things are not very good for killing people, but great for target shooting.

Yeah i started to answer but its just not worth it.

Some guns are designed not for killing purposes, even though they can/have been used for such.

America has 2nd amendment disease, its a brain wasting illness that affects enough of their population that nothing will ever change. Where was last nights armed citizen hero to snipe down the assailant?

They have essentially deified their constitution and founding fathers.

Too fast for semi-auto but too inconsistent for full auto.
Another theory on reddit was a trigger attachment that essentially turned a normal semi-automatic into a Gatling type gun. Basically spin the wheel and it fires.

Would explain the inconsistent rates of fire.

Not quite correct. In WW1 machine gun fire was used "en masse" so to speak at long range to attack enemy trenches and repel attacks. They were fired from heavy tripod MG's using water cooled belt fed weapons. They had traverse and elevation friction devices to limit movement. To control muzzle movement when firing.

Bi-pods, when resting on the ground achieve the same purpose.

IMO it takes at least 4-5000 rounds of full auto firing to learn to control the muzzle of a light automatic weapon, unsupported.

Most people get stupid ideas about guns from Hollywood.

Above not directed at you, or anyone here.

I dont know Mandalay Bay's layout but to me it looks like he was shooting from 2 different rooms and very different angles. Almost like he could shoot from one spot, forcing people to move one direction...then move to the other spot knowing they would be corralled in that spot for easy targeting. Heinous stuff if true.
Either he had two rooms, possibly not even adjacent, or he had a suite. They do have some big suites in that hotel.

More accurately, they rewrote their constitution. And very recently too.

forgive me if this has been mentioned already, but one article I read from the Toronto star indicated this guy had been in the room since sept 28.

if this is true, I wonder when he lugged all of the gun stuff up to his room? if it was stored there, one would have think that housekeeping would have noticed it - but perhaps given it was vegas, perhaps it did not faze them.

Or you put up the "do not disturb" sign and house keeping doesn't come in.
