Flames assign Andersson and Gillies to Stockton

Calgary has 25 players remaining at training camp (2x goalies, 7x defencemen, 16x forwards). These numbers don't include injured players Daniel Pribyl and Marek Hrivik.

Feel for Andersson but the waiver exemption and Righty thing was his undoing.

As I mentioned in the other thread, this will be a big year for both players to really dominate in the AHL.
Next year, Gillies has the opportunity to replace Lack while Andersson will get another real crack at the top 6.

Stupid.
These 6/7 guys didn't earn it but they should be able to do minimal damage with 10-12 minutes of ice time when dressed

A few other posters have mentioned this but what if there is a trade coming to acquire a top 6 dman?
Bartkowski+Stajan/Brouwer to Vegas for a dman...

I thought Andersson deserved to be around to the last day of camp as a reward but I don't think he is NHL-ready. Kulak is, IMO.

No one. I built the same list but assumed Glass doesnt get a contract, which apparently leaves the Flamess at the roster limit for tomorrow. If Glass does sign a contract though...

The Flames haven't made the Jagr signing official so don't think they are including him. I think they are still including Gazdic and Hathaway. Note they didn't say the waivers were for purpose of assignment like they did in the previous waivers.

Kulak was terrible this preseason, Andersson was better. But I get it, there is no rush for Rasmus.

I would not be surprised to see Kylington and Andersson play a lot together this year in Stockton.
Andersson is nearly ready; that much is apparent. Kylington looks so much better than last year, but probably does need another full year in the AHL. If both are able to take a step forward, next season we could have a top-6 of:
Gio-Dougie
Brodie-Hamonic
Kylington-Andersson
Forecheck that.
