I dunno I think depth is important at all positions. Stockton usually goes through like 6 goalies a season. Sure it looks like we're slightly too deep when totally healthy but imagine one of Smith/Lack goes down and then one of Gillies/Rittich gets injured and suddenly you're really happy you have as many goalies as we do.

Also, the Flames could very easily get rid of the best goalie. It wasn't that long ago there wasn't room for Brossoit, because Ortio, Berra etc. Might as well hang onto them unless you can upgrade IMO.

One way to open up a spot would be to send Parsons back to London. Whatever the Knights are doing with him, appears to be working.

I think it will be Gillies/Rittich in Stockton, and MacDonald/Parsons in the ECHL. I think Parsons has done all he can do in junior, although goalies tend to need extra seasoning so you never know.

Calgary would have to pay a premium as they would need to ship Troy Brower back as part of the deal. That alone is an expensive move.

The ask is probably Valimaki+ or Fox+, would be a tough trade to get done considering the draft picks at the Flames disposal.

I know I might be in the minority here but I would send Fox to the Avs if they were willing to take Brouwer.

Fox+ Brouwer+a pick+another prospect for Duchene would be a huge win for the Flames.

And the plus is probably Bennett

If the plus were just a pick or another okay player, Duchene would already be a Flame. But it's not. Colorado is determined to get full value, and that being the case, it won't make sense for the Flames.

I don't understand what the Avs expect to get for a player that's pretty much a pending UFA.....with each passing day...Duchene's value craters. I think GM's should just wait out the Avs.

Avs are going to end up getting less than what they could have got a year ago...

Avs are going to end up getting less than what they could have got a year ago...

It kinda seems like they are...The avs are going to kick themselves for not taking any deals from the draft. The longer this goes on, the more I think the Flames have the assets to pull it off. They're not going to give up nearly as much as some think.

Simply put, Sakic is a bad GM.
