At the very least, Monahan looks to be in mid-season form, which is one step above last year, since he didn't really hit stride until December. Hopefully, that translates to a better start for the team.

The Flames didn't do anything at all last night to dispel the notion that a scout (according to McLean) said they are too slow.

Said scout picked Winnipeg to make the playoffs over the Flames.

Calgary has to finish above LA and SJ and its basically a lock...who cares about Winnipeg? pre-season game with guys going at 50% doesn't prove or disprove anything

Like Treliving said in the interview. It's nice to get noticed and all, but his team still has to go out and execute. There's no gurarantee that the addition of Hamonic or Smith will be the elixer to the Flame woes.

I mean the Smith trade was a nothing trade IMO. Losing Hickey didnt hurt the defensive depth and they got a more locked down player in Valimaki to replace him.

Now if the Hamonic trade doesnt pan out and the Flames miss... well then thats going to sting. Good draft year and no picks until round #4

Ducks-probably worse
Oilers-Same
SJ-Worse
Vancouver-lol
Vegas-lol
Yotes-not very good
LA-Same at best

Calgary needs to be in the top 3 of this murderers row...honesty if they miss the playoffs please just blow it up. IF they were to miss I don't think we have to worry about draft picks considering half the roster should be traded

This is NOT a murderers row!

Oil, ducks and Flames are the division teams. If the Kings or sharks make top 3 I will be stunned.

Hope the Flames top the oil and ducks. At least 1 of 2 for a home ice advantage. But there will be divisional war.

I'm pretty sure dino7c was being sarcastic. Though he was overly dramatic in the 2nd part of his post.

Not even joking when I say it's cup or nothing this year. Need some things to go our way, but if we look back on this season and we made the finals I wouldn't even be surprised and I'll be collecting my 14-1 odds.

Smith at 0.930 in the playoffs
Hamilton 50+pts and 20pts in the playoffs
Gio 40+pts
Brodie 40+pts

Bennett 50+pts
Tkachuk 60+pts
Gaudreau 70+pts
Backlund 50+pts
Ferland 20g
Monahan 35g
Jankowski 15g and 35a+ as a rookie
