Been kind of getting the sense that Gulutzan is purposely not exactly playing to win, more trying to see how guys do in certain situation. 4th line out there for a offensive draw after an icing, for example

Bad period, but this is really the first time this group has played together since the playoffs. There's bound to be some rust. Just gotta shake it off and get their legs going.
Glass looks pretty good. It's fun watching him run around throwing hits.
Smith looked pretty decent after the 1st goal.
Rest of the team looks pretty meh.

Ugly period. Smith looking like the Smith in Arizona. Brouwer looking like Brouwer in the second half of last season. The rest of the Flames looking like think stink off of Smith and Brouwer has made them want to leave the building. High point was Glass actually hitting someone. Ugly.

Think I'm going to stop watching pre-season games. Only thing that's been enjoyable has been watching Jankowski, hopefully the Flames practice hard because they have taken every pre-season game off. If they start out awful again I'll be blaiming these efforts in pre-season. Just seems like they should be taking these more seriously considering the starts the last 2 seasons and with an intense game coming up next.

Brouwer still playing like a bag of Dick's.
Bennett and Versteeg don't need a linemate or BOD.
He had so much ground to cover when he tries to keep up and why in God's name GG has him on that line makes my brain hurt. Hope this expirment ends soon.
Put Freddie or Garnett on that line please.

The stupid new Google search settings make it impossible now. All thats coming up is flames news about Smith. I have posted about it before and have stated I liked playing him for that reason when he was a Coyote.
