How is Kulak/Wotherspoon getting all the votes? Andersson has been markedly better than all these guys.

It's the lefty righty conundrum. Andersson is a righty and the Flames have the solid righties locked up. And in Gully's system it seems there's no room for a righty on the lefty side.

Gulutzan has experimented with defenseman on their off side this pre-season. I don't think he will hesitate having Andersson on the left side if he's the clear favourite.

No one has clearly taken the #6 job from Bartowski, but Andersson has made the least amount of mistakes. Kulak was my favourite at the beginning of training camp but now I think he's behind Bartowski, Andersson and Wotherspoon. Valimaki will of course be sent back to junior. He's clearly not ready.

I'd say Bartkowski has pretty clearly taken the #6 job away from himself. If he hadn't played last year I think he'd easily have been cut in the last round.

Kulak, Bartkowski, Wotherspoon are all pretty bad let's be honest. I'm not comfortable with any on D and on offense they are anemic. Give me Rasmus who doesn't freak out when the puck is on his stick.

Think they forced Trelivings hand and he is now making many phone calls, looking for a steady #6. Anderson was pretty good, but i doubt GM is comfortable having a major injury in top 4 and having one of Kulak , Bart, or Spoon in for long stretches.

My guess is a new guy as #6 , and if an injury comes along, small or major ,then Anderson fills in. Basically #7 guy is getting very few games this year.

If they get an injury in the top 4, Stone moves back up to the second pairing, where he was a decent fill-in last year. Doubt that's a major concern at the moment.

That's true, I just wish someone came in to take it.

Sure, but then who is #5 and #6?

Voted Andersson, Wotherspoon

Kulak has been very disappointing all preseason. He occasionally makes decent reads and it sometimes leads to some offensive opportunities, but going the other way, he's dreadful. Consistently getting beat.

Bartkowski... need I say more.

Ras as the #6, Tyler as the #7.

He wouldn't be playing if he was. He's just been bad.

Bartkowski is proven garbage, Kulak and Wotherspoon are only 90% likely garbage.

Probably going to see a waiver pickup at this point though.

Not what I want to see, but I think the 6 and 7 go to Kulak and Bartkowski. Kulak gets to start the season, but if he looks bad, Bartkowski comes in.

I'd prefer the Flames play Andersson on his offside and then have Kulak as number 7 but I don't see that happening.

I'd like to change my vote. Andersson is the guy who deserves it so far.

Bartowski is far more responsible in his end than Kulak. Kulak I have seen cough up the puck in his end and offense zone far too much. He is a liability at the NHL level. Flames can not afford his mistakes as a #6.
