Meh I think it's a myth that has run its course. And before anyone labels me a hater I've always thought this about Smith.
This is a comment from me from when he was a Coyote.

No other goalie gives the other team freebies more than Mike Smith does.

The price you pay for having an awesome puck possession goalie. Definitely going to be the first time the Flames will have that dimension on the team. It's also going to create some added stress and excitement for Flames fans, no doubt.
Looking forward to seeing it. I bet Johnny is going to have a good time getting fed breakaways on bad line changes.

Who has spoken out to say they prefer to race back and get it and prefer he avoid playing it? Anyone that has played would rather not make that skate.

Outside Calgary? Yes. 2015 was the last time pre season games could be streamed outside Calgary. NHL took over the sites and this "regional black out" issue started last fall.

I wasn't aware that Stone said that, but pretty well any defencemen will tell you that. I'm sure the comment wasn't based on quotes as much as it was based on hockey sense

Janko Should be on the PP when he makes the big team. He is not out of his element there. He has that poise you need.

I know DAZN is having issues now, but i would like the NHL to get on board as well if they can get out of the rogers deal.

Hamilton / Janko had some poor man's Burns / Thornton thing going on in that brief moment

Nothing to do with the content, but I chuckle at the attempt to avoid being called a 'hater' by quoting yourself hating

Much prefer seeing the D duo's on the PP unit's instead of the extra forward. Flames have talented blueliners, make use of them on the powerplay.

I meant a Flames hater....some seem to think I love hating players or making comments for the sake of "Flames hating.
I thought Smith was an overrated puck handler when he was a Coyote and still do. He can handle a puck no question but he has poor decision making abilities when he does have it.
