Macho fantasy? I’m not sure what you mean by that, but it sounds a little sarcastic.

I don’t mean a coach who just yells and screams at his players, that obviously isn’t the way to coach in this era, just one that shows a little more intensity. Compared to the latest cup winners Sullivan, Quenneville Sutter, Julien and Bylsma, Gulutzan barely has a pulse.

[QUOTE=Vinny01;6380842]After watching last nights game I could easily see Treliving making sure the line to Jagr or Iggy is still open.

..../QUOTE]

I have to disagree. I don't know about the coaches/management, but i don't see how we can make any judgement calls on where the opening day roster stands, without actually seeing any kind of realistic lines together in a game.

I'd like to see Bennett with some actual possibilities on his line (versteeg, ferland, tkatchuk, Jankowski, Lazar) to see if we truly need to look outside for that 3rd line winger, or there are viable solutions from within.

I would really like to see realistic lineups starting asap in these preseason games.

As an aside, I also would like to see Smith get get plenty of time in (not necessarily full games) to get him in a rhythm before game 1.

While on camera, yes he's composed. You think he's silent and calm in the dressing room? Doubt it.

Read that more cuts won't happen until after Friday's game.

Anyone at the game last night remember the national anthem? My father-in-law was drummer in the singers band for years. He recently passed away and she sang at his funeral as well. She has done alot of local Regina Pats games and a few Roughrider games as well. How did it go? MY understanding is that she's trying out to do be able to do it more often but I'm not sure. I PVR'ed it but didnt get a chance to watch it yet.

Most people in my section thought she was an instant and immediate upgrade on GC. I thought she had a beautiful voice.

She was good and I'm a hard marker on anthem singers.

Read that and was also intrigued as to the meaning, he should be lacing up against ARZ unless he is hurt or cut already or traded.

Do they practice ANY systems in preseason/camp?

If they do, it does not show.

Watch any of the preseason games with teams like Chicago or LA or even Vegas and you see common breakouts and offensive and defensive schemes.

Flames looked like beer leaguers in this game.

Coachability, including the ability to learn systems and execute them well, is one of the biggest things that separates pros from wannabes. Given that it's been mostly wannabes so far (and for the established pros it's still early), I wouldn't read too much into it.
