Not saying what I want, just speculating. Glass looked good tonight (against AHLers) and he has been and NHLer. I think that will carry weight with our coaches.... brings that trust, correctly placed or not. Hope I'm wrong on this one (usually am, which is a plus). FYI, I like Hathaway and think he should make it; Hamilton is largely meh (but maybe a Dougie thing to keep him around).

Brett Kulak's name does not belong in the same sentence as TJ Brodie. Anyone who thinks it does must think Brodie is goddamn terrible.
Inexcusable performance from someone who's meant to grab hold of the sixth spot. Bartkowski and Kulak can both go to Stockton.

In all honestly I've seen so many pre season champions that suck in in the regular season. Am I crazy to be glad we are not playing so good that we think we have nothing to work on before the real season starts? I don't know losing in the pre season can be a positive, it makes teams less cocky and work even harder in practice to prepare for the regular season.

People are saying that playing Bartkowski for a game should cost Gulutzan his job. Not that I agree with that, of course, but honestly, playing Glass would be just about as bad. Neither of them has any place on the opening night roster of a team that should make the playoffs.

I don't see what others see in Kulak. He makes too many mistakes. He still might be a better option over Bartkowski however.

There's also Stajan to consider, who might be the 12th forward or could just as easily be the extra 13th or 14th forward most of the year. No way he's getting moved to another organization right now because of that huge contract.
Glass played well tonight, but something is really wrong if he makes the team.

With 3 pre season game remaining, we're going to see the rest of the bubble player in Winnipeg and the few who are the top of the line to make it.
The next two games after that will be the finished roster. At least I think that is what Gulutzan said, the finished roster will have two pre season games

Agree with both comments. I honestly think you might have some growing pains with Andersson or Valimaki to start the year, but by mid-year you would have 5x the player Kulak will be. Not sure you could live with the Kylington mistakes.... just TOO big. Really doubt they do that with Valimaki this year (they will next year) but I would give Andersson the chance to learn in the show personally.

I think that's so much more important than anything else at this point.
- Getting your line chemistry going
- Getting your D partner chemistry going
- Getting used to the new goalies
- Implementing the PP and PK in a game setting
- Getting line changes correct so you don't have stupid changes on Oct 4
There's 4 games left. I hope they give atleast 2 games to the actual team.

I think you will see a pretty solid line up against the Yotes on Friday.
GG is not going to be happy with what he saw tonight for sure.

Hathaway wasn't in the lineup tonight.

I thought that Kylington was the best of the guys auditioning for the 6-7 D spots tonight with Andersson behind him. I just wish he was a little bit more aggressive with the puck on his stick in the offensive zone. Valimaki is going to be good but he's not ready yet. Kulak and Bartkowski were awful. They were a chance against waiting to happen every time they were on the ice.

Ummm, yup. Like I said, hope I'm wrong after all the "this is the year the kid's step up talk". Maybe Grossman last year is just still too fresh.

Agree with the disappointment with Foo, seasoning in the AHL could do him wonders. Jankowski looks legit, only someone that has been actively rooting against him and Feaster could really think otherwise. I know it can't happen on opening night, but a 4th line of Hathaway and Dube would be greatly entertaining.

He has said all vets will each see 4 games in the preseason, so last 2 games should ne close to our opening night roster.

The one positive takeaway I got from the game tonight was:
Valamaki > Juolevi
One is visible, attempts to make plays and seems solid out there.
The other was invisible for most of the night.
