NHL merchandizing revenue is split 31 ways. Unless you buy your Jagr jersey at a Flames FanAttic outlet.

Didn't Bob McKenzie also put some shade on the Flames signing Jagr?

Not overly. Just said, "I don't believe that is the case".

Also said he could be wrong. It sounded like he didn't really know what was going on with Jagr.

"More than that" = Jagr ??

My buddy got a pretty clear impression that they were saying Jagr isn't happening without actually saying the words "Jagr isn't happening.".
This morning Friedman questioned the 'fit' for Jagr, and how he might handle being a 3rd liner, and on the 2nd powerplay. While he's a great personality and a legend, one thing to keep in mind with Jagr is he has the ego of a legend too. And I don't mean that as a shot at him. But superstar players usually have expectations around their status to match. That's just the nature of big-league sports these days. So chemistry is very much an issue with this kind of signing.

I highly doubt what anyone "hears" until things actually happen.

Bennett and team are far apart! Might go overseas! - Signs hours later to a great contract...

Burke plays down everything too. There's not a single time he hasn't shot down whatever the latest rumour was. So that's just Burke. If it's been confirmed by Jagr's camp that the Flames have spoken to him/his agent over this free agency period then clearly there is interest, even if they do like the space they have as well. Treliving wants to ice the best team possible. And if Foo/Ferland (dicey options..) can't adequately fill the 1st/3rd RW spots then surely Treliving will look at extenal options, of which Jagr has clearly appealed to them at least somewhat.

Just gonna go ahead and bump this for no reason. Nothing to do with yesterday or any panic and hand wringing that may be taking place, of course. Nothing at all. Just saw this nice story on Twitter.

$7K for Jagr to be a Ringer. Nice.

My heart skipped a beat when I saw this bump. Disappointing, but amusing story.

So adjusted for inflation, 1 year $851,531.46, 82 Schnitzels and Gulutzan has to agree to share his room.

Hopefully this lays the Jagr-to-Flames speculation to rest.

Hopefully it amps up again resulting in an eventual signing

It sounds to me like he still has not closed the door on an NHL contract. I think that suggests that he continues talking to a couple teams, no?

That's my reading too; I don't see why this would lay speculation to rest. 3-4 teams gives you a lot of room to speculate about who's in the running, honestly.
